I think BCN is close to be desisted from Poloniex, so they need to do something.  Next delisting is coming fast. And Poloniex will delist like 10 coins to make space for new coins.
BCN guys are way to smart to just let it happen without fight.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I know that the Cryptocoin development is full of scams. In fact, I've single handedly destroyed a number of  bitcoin clone coins simply by looking at the source code and and revealing to the miners that the developer was being dishonest about the coin.

Do you understand the difference between cryptonote and cryptocoin?

It calls to mind the reuse of Dr. X's Aircraft Carriers in Diamond Age.  That massive instrument of death and destruction crafted from the taxes extorted from the productive and then abandoned, finally carrying and supporting the vast population of orphaned Chinese girls that proceed to transform society.

Extremely great analogy.

Though I must say, I am a bit partial to this one....for {unknown} reasons....

This CN debacle has more intrigue than Game of Thrones.

This is worth re-taking a look to after today's debacle... BCN got into Binance, went a few time 10x up in price then all exchanged oddly disabled deposits... People were buying from poloniex and sending to Binance but to no avail... There's tons of people complaining of losing money and myriads of stuck transactions.

Makes me wonder if this was in insider job. Was there yet another backdoor in bytecoin's code that would allow to halt the network? Was this the last avail of developers to dump their coins?

I've made a thread to discuss this new incident here.

Maybe the 82% premine? Ya think?
How much of that do you think they've been able to dump?

I lost alot of respect for Binance when they listed this scamcoin.

There were huge volumes and one'd wonder where those coins were coming from when deposits were disabled. There's still a big difference in price between exchanges.

Thanks for this great topic o0
I literally will rethink my strategy because as happened i infiltrated to bcn/xmr market time ago & playing games with bots ...

And other thing is that its really weird after years of constant learning about cryptocurrencys overnight one can change a mind to unlearn whats learned. Scams really hits to fail mass adaptation. Win-win here was free bitcoin faucets, and alts failing here much from what i see.

you can suspect a lot of those volume (which BTW is lower than Monero's one) can be fake and the market cap can be easily manipulated.

There are many exchanges with fake volume, asamof some of the largest.

If so, couldn't you require that all tx come with a small and instantly verifiable proof-of-work, whose difficulty scales with tx validity checking effort?

Detailing some new developments below. BCN value has climbed a couple of hundred million dollars since last month.

* AssetRush, the ICO promotion venture lead by Bytecoin community Manager Jenny Goldberg among others, have updated their team page. Remember those 20 or so team members, all with the same picture style? Well, they are just 7 now, of which 2 are new (https://assetrush.com/about).

* Utilizing the Twitter Archiving Project's stored data, I managed to confirm that Jenny's account was created on a computer with Russian language settings.

* David Petrachini is still listed on the team, yet his LinkedIn profile is now shut down. The now dead LinkedIn profile is still linked from the AssetRush team page (https://assetrush.com/about). All his 1400 followers must be mortified. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-petrachini/)

* Martina Sarto is no longer listed on the team. Her LinkedIn profile is now shut down. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/martina-sarto/)

* Jenn Bruney is no longer listed on the team. Her LinkedIn profile is shut down as well. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenn-bruney/)

Just had to create an account to say thank you very much to all who are supporting this topic and  shedding light on this farce, as well as exposing the BCN "team" and spam accounts as the scammers they are.

Shame on all of them.

Some minor additions to the investigation.

* Jenny Goldberg claims as you may know to reside in or around Barcelona. It came as no surprise then when I found a meetup group, where a Jenny G is admin. It is generically called Barcelona B-chain Community, but the Bytecoin logo is utilized. Apparently I can't link it here, but just google the name and add 'meetup'. The group with its 175 members have 1 past meetup with 57 attendees. Cool, so maybe someone got to chat with Jenny then?

Looking at a couple of comments for this meetup, we find:

It is possible that anyone doesn’t know the location? It is a fake meetup?! I already asked on telegram and I received no answer! What a pity! - Theresa T

60 ppl confirmed and no one apart from us is asking about the location :/ so strange.. Idk maybe the info is somewhere else, in Telegram for example? I don't have an account so haven't check it. Anyway, given the circumstances I won't go >.< - Mariona

The meetup shows indeed no location at all. Wanting to double check, I contacted another attendee by mail. His answer: Hello, I believe it did not happen. I was waiting for the location to be announced but it never was, and people complained about it on the Meetup Comments. Would like, if possible, that you keep me updated on your investigation

So it seems Bytecoin's community manager faked a meetup. It is the first time I see a scam go to such lengths. Remember, this is the same person that is listed on the official Bytecoin webpage (https://bytecoin.org/contacts), so she is not just some hire - she is in the midst of the Bytecoin team.

* My Medium account has been suspended. Can't tie it to Bytecoin reporting but it is a possibility, so while I try to solve that I will come with updates in this thread.

Edit: Removing links, formatting.

Oh, forgot to add one thing.

AssetRush CEO David Booker(!) seems to enjoy Russian emoticons as much as all the other sockpuppets.
