There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

This is a consistent issue.  Can't stake if the network doesn't see you.  I am beginning to wonder if this isn't by design.  As it stands, potcoin, cannabiscoin, and spliffcoin are all, regardless of their development state, fully functioning, error free, and obtainable and tend to answer questions when asked, and will be fully backed by products.

There's only one guy in this forum doing anything to keep people interested in this coin.  Perhaps those who still hold these coins and those who miraculously managed to get them without outright buying them on an exchange should put your weight together and vote 8-bit in as the new developer of this coin.  Fork it into one that represents his passion for it so that this one can fade away in favour of a coin that has the full support of it's development staff.

So, I move with my 85.72898684 CCN, that this coin be forked and/or put under the necessary care of someone who is willing to devote the necessary time into it's development, and I recommend that that someone be 8-bit who has shown a devotion that the developers of this coin have not to it's success.

You could use your bittrex wallet, but you wouldn't benefit from the staking.  I wish I could say that the qt-wallet works, but I've had no good experiences with it. Idk if it's the wallet code, or the blockchain that is creating the issue of rarely updating or if it is designed to prevent successful staking.  At it's current state I'd recommend going with one of the other cannabis related coins. If you want to stake, potcoin, if you want to mine and stake spliffcoin, and if you want to mine, cannabiscoin.  This one seems to still be in pre-alpha phases, and went to POS only way too early in the game and likely needs a restart with dedicated devs.

But if you still want to chance it with this coin your best bet is bittrex wallet, or a staking pool, or the software wallet, but be aware that the coin exists with the functionality of a prealpha coin and PoW phase is completely over after only running for about six months, which in the case of most altcoins is a few red flags.

I think if 8-bit were to take over development then this coin would become what it is advertised as.

So the slow chain isn't affecting the stake function? If the wallet is perpetually considered out of synch and offline wouldn't that also affect whether or not the chain recognizes that it is unlocked and staking?

That is the issue with qt wallet.  Is there feedback as to why the chain is so slow?

The slow blockchain is because the split threshold is set to 2 million. The next wallet update will adjust this value. Thanks for the kind words DarkIlluminatus, but there's no need for a fork. I'm more of a community manager than a developer. The dev is going through a busy time at work and we will have to show patience for the next update. In the meantime there's plenty of projects for myself and others in the community to work on. If interested, pm me on bitcointalk or catch me at the #cannacoin irc channel.

It's working finally! Slow blockchain, but the wallet decided to stake and update.  So it now appears to be, with that only one issue now, a fully functioning coin.  I look forward to backing this and the other cannabis related coin with the product to come.

Just had to make sure that there would be results from the stake.  I wouldn't want to sell them on the idea of an abandoned coin.

"slow blockchain" is a bit ambiguous..

i meant there was excessive time (hours) between blocks, likely due to the network difficulty being accustomed to large stakes and those stakes suddenly being withheld.

a slow blockchain sounds like a sync issue and inability to find peers that you can downloads the ledger from.

of course you can not stake without and up to date ledger.. i have not had issues fining peers. ever.

dont know anything about a split threshold.

CCN is alive and well. Hopefully someone can merge the changed code into a new release any time soon.

Hello every one. I have an issue i was hoping someone could help me with. I have an older non staking windows qt wallet and i cant seem to be able to find a windows qt download with the .exe file. All i can seem to find is the source code files but i am a noob when it comes to understanding how to compile/create a wallet from them. I have tried syncing my older wallet with the current nodes but it does not sync (fork i presume) so i am kind of at a loss. Any help on getting me a wallet up so i can retrieve/stake my coins would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time

Maybe it's the lack of updates from developers that is discouraging people from placing a higher value on the coin.  Staking seems to have slowed down, but now the blockchain is updating frequently. My coins have been staking for a week, I can't access them, and not a single mined satoshi out of 'em.  Either I'm in for one hell of a payout when the thus far week long stake ends, or this coin is broken again.

The activity on the coin does send out a lot of red flags, though, and if not for the passion for this coin from 8-bit I'd probably have called this one a complete bust already. But there's still plenty of time for the coin to turn around and start behaving properly before the growers and dispensaries have the product we're going to back working coins with.

No matter how ya look at it though...

BUT, I personally am not giving up on the coin yet!  It'll just need a 3 month staking trial period once it's fully operational again before it can be backed by my particular offerings, and as I said, to any devs lurking but enigmatically refusing to speak, there's still plenty of time for that.

don't see any "dumps" on bittrex. volume is pretty stingy actually. volume as of now is a whopping 0.08806317 bitcoin heh.

if anything i would be worried about delisting more than disappearing. lets face it, these pot heads will keep the network alive even if the block height does not advance for weeks at a time.

some due to big vern dumping huge amounts of stolen coins - is there no need to check if that's the case here??

is it nothing special / 'what dumps, i dont see any dumps' ?
