We're just getting started! The plan is to drop coins for 30 days to power up the POS network (the minimum holding period is 30 days and with a block dropping every 30 minutes we should have good coverage to make the chain self sustainable then. The BIG rewards start Sunday and go for a week when we move ~250M 2GIVE to Bittrex 1M coins at a time randomly -- giving everyone a chance to compete for 10K block rewards. Thanks for supporting our ecosphere! -dvd

Thanks for your help getting my coins over to bittrex for the swap!
You're very welcome! Looks like we're hosting 2 sessions on seed.givecoin.io and seed2.givecoin.io that are not our own nodes that I spun up based on your request last night. "addr" : "193.107.94.202:52727", "addr" : "91.121.221.92:39402", 3 sessions on 204.246.68.172 -- and I know one of those is the blockexplorer... We also have some water cooled mining rigs running right now to keep the old chain moving -- though honestly most of the power is coming from someone aggressively mining the chain.... https://www.blockexperts.com/give/address/7BLYswC2mZwpABFMitWeHQMv4USBgpx6u6They are going to be REALLY unhappy if they are asleep at the wheel and miss the SWAP.... Because after next Sunday we power down all the Give V1 infra -- which means whatever mining they are going to do will be powered by their own wallet and whatever other wallets they find (mining typically requires ONE other wallet/node to be online -- which is why you can't self mine unless connected to the net normally) -dvd

"The worth of a thing is the price it will bring" This project looks really good. It has a public developer who is setting up a charity and working hard. Many coins will be unclaimed and assigned a value of 0. The coins that are claimed will be valuable. It's common for altcoins of this quality to have a marketcap of $1,000,000+. I won't be selling any of my coins until the project becomes successful. 100,000 satoshi per $2GIVE would be a good price to sell off a few. I will most likely donate the rest of mine to charity since that is the spirit of this coin.

On the FB page I put up pix of the in progress work on the RC3 release which includes support for QR-CODES (already working on the Mac version) -- and hopefully a "clickable trophy icon" in the lower right tray to turn mining on and off. On the "valuation" question -- please realize that the PRIMARY market is at the Charities themselves! If you read the whitepaper http://bit.ly/2GiveCoin you'll learn about our "underwriter model" that means charities can sell them at ANY PRICE they want -- just like they do things at silent auctions. Any other cypto exchange is technically a "secondary market" in our worldview. A "virtuous cycle" in charitable giving would have people donating coins to charities at whatever value they have tracking (like in the USA crypto's are considered equities and you are supposed to account for the difference what you got them for and what you sold or disposed of them at). This means an underwriter can give money to a charity and receive coins in exchange and then take a credit for that donation, using 2GIVE as the accounting unit. They can then hold on to the coins, let them appreciate (or not) in value and then donate them to another charity for them to hold or sell. -dvd

You're hearing this here first!
A dev friend of mine just pulled (and patched up) the GIT code and was able to successfully build a working 64-bit wallet on Mac OS X 10.11 using the native "clang" compiler and an updated BOOST 1.60
THIS IS HUGE !!

I'm waiting for rc3 wallet LOL -- Thanks for the enthusiasm!! If you're following the news on FB you know that we have three BIG things coming in RC3: 1. Enabled QR-CODE Support This is the default that the core wallet codebase has that makes it easy to display and save QR-CODES of any address in the Contacts list. We need this minimal functionality to power up our "Gift" button which will make it easy to create paper wallets !! We hope to make 2GIVE a real world social tipping platform that introduces non-crypto people to our world. 2. One Click Mining The idea here is that we want to make it easier for people to participate in securing the network both through POS as well as POW blocks. There will likely be three option option paths for this: a) a trophy icon in the lower right tray, b) a checkbox in regular options along with the start on reboot, and c) advanced options console of course 3. Code Base Modernization This part isn't as visible, but we have steadily working to make the code base more up to date to take advantage of more recent versions of the toolchain, namely Boost. THE BIG WIN HERE is that we have been able to produce a 64-Bit native Mac OS X wallet using the "clang" compiler. All while keeping a SINGLE UNIFIED code base -- so that we have one authoritative source of truth for the wallet regardless of desktop operating system. -dvd

I feel ya man - we have a test Win 7 VM turned up -- low ram/low cpu and it only earned one block reward in the last seven days... You could check your "listtransactions" in the Help / Advanced Options / Console window to see if your wallet tried to submit a block solution that got orphaned due to a higher Proof of Work from another miner? Other things to consider: What are your "power settings" on your computer? If it goes to sleep when idle the wallet can't mine. How many connections are you showing to the 2GIVE network? I have between 9 and 14 at any given time -- more is better. There is ONE other way you can get coins and that is to mine V1 Givecoin for the rest of this week and get them transferred over to Bittrex before Sunday night. They would then be converted into 2GIVE on Monday May 9th. -dvd

I've checked everything you said and it's OK and I just have to be lucky I guess Lot's of chances to be "lucky" ;-) We're pushing out 100K blocks between the seed nodes every 1/2 hour for the first 30 days to power up the POS potential -- and this week we're randomly moving 1M coin blocks to Bittrex to fund their coin swap next week. Thanks for being a part of the 2GIVE ecosphere!! Please share us with your friends? It's a great and easy way to introduce people to the whole crypto world -- and you can get them to help secure the network as well! Maybe ping your favorite local non-profit -- like an animal rescue or shelter?? -dvd

All as I'm sitting here doing research on the last few post + block explorer, thinking about giving zdeni82 one of the blocks & yes more nodes helps. Having over 30+ nodes connected all weekend, also have SSD + decent internet speeds. Status: 6 confirmations, broadcast through 27 nodes Date: 5/2/2016 10:33 Source: Generated Credit: 10000.00 2GIVE (matures in 4 more blocks) Net amount: 0.00 2GIVE Transaction ID: 4f4ad756a8925cb1f3fd80c76ce55cab89744340e3c9887ed83b26e719f77dff I've checked everything you said and it's OK and I just have to be lucky I guess PM me your 2Give address, I'm willing to send you one of the 1000 2Give blocks & give a little 2Give We need this minimal functionality to power up our "Gift" button which will make it easy to create paper wallets !! We hope to make 2GIVE a real world social tipping platform that introduces non-crypto people to our world.
Having never made a paper wallet over the years (only disks, sd cards, USB, etc...), thought about it many of many times & just waiting for the rest of the world to even know about these new applications of the future.... "Testing Crypto looks @ the picture frame on the wall, from the first 2Give paper wallet ever received & thinks about the memories of the Gift of 2Give"
