Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Hi All,

Yes.  It's been too quiet and NET/the community deserves better.  That said, some of the core team has re-focused into other projects (happens in crypto), so in the coming few months we'll be looking to try and get some talent in to manage and continue to develop the coin.

The wallet/core is currently being tested (not quite ready for release as of yet) but we'll keep you posted.

As for other updates that weren't posted here on BTC-talk:

1) NET declared an official pact/treaty with Mazacoin (the first ever blockchain pact between two cryptos involving a sovereign state recognized currency with another non-native currency).

2) NET has been in discussions with MZC/EXP to develop and build some complementary communities and work together on various projects.

3) We are exploring some major updates (after the next client release) for NET to try and leverage it's name/branding.

We had a wild day yesterday (47btc volume).

We're still here (we are always around in the skype chats.  Feel free to join us!

It might be a good idea to try to get NET onto BitSquare as well, I'm thinking.

i agree.  And will pay you 5 UNO if NET get's listed and you help provide info on how Wink

also ...

updating
suggested POS coins by TALK community
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=864994.msg13983872#msg13983872

NET is on the new list as it was on the old list.

We like your coin!

Would be nice to have a formal NET rep stop by the TALK ever so often to keep us up-to-date Wink

But we will require a person of knowledge and standing to provide formal nomination and periodic communication in order to remain listed.

Hi All,

So after a little bit - we are finalizing a new client release!  We don't have an official date of release yet, but we'll keep you posted in advance!  There is a fair amount that has been changed (most internal things to continue to develop security).

(here's the list of updates)
Changelog Netcoin 2.4
Commits
( All blank lines will be a commit to the repo)
-------------
add support for miniupnpc api version 14
fix static build with miniupnpc >= 1.9.20140610
moved // CAddrDB from txdb.cpp naar db.cpp
added leveldb
Optimization: disable block signature verification during initial block index checking
Squashed 'src/leveldb/' changes from 9094c7f..7924331

Prevent socket leak in ThreadSocketHandler.

Handle locked pages more robustly
Make CCrypter use LockedPageManager to manage locked pages

P2P: parse network datastream into header/data components in socket thread
Some fixes to CNetMessage processing
P2P, cosmetic: break out buffer send(2) code into separate function
P2P: improve RX/TX flow control

Use per-message send buffer, rather than per connection

Split MIN_PROTO_VERSION into INIT_PROTO_VERSION and MIN_PEER_PROTO_VERSION

Limit number of known addresses per peer

Fixed memory leak

Allocate receive buffers in on the fly

Add missing FindNode prototype to net.h

Avoid querying DNS seeds, if we have open connections.

Add built-in seeds for .onion

Removed IRC Seed support

addrman: Do not propagate obviously poor addresses onto the network

Use a copy in place of mapMultiArgs["-addnode"].
Try more than the first address for a DNS -addnode

RPC, cosmetic: push down ReadHTTPStatus() calls into ReadHTTP() callers
RPC: HTTP server uses its own ReadHTTPRequestLine()

netbase: Use .data() instead of .c_str() on binary string
RPC: strictly require HTTP URI "/"
RPC client option: -rpcwait, to wait for server start

Add GetTimeMicros() for ore accurate benchmarking
Added ping time measurement.
Ping automatically every 2 minutes (unconditionally)
Use pong receive time rather than processing time

Moved PushGetBlocks to main.cpp to eliminate dependence of net.cpp
Make sure we always have a node to do IBD from
Use pnode->nLastRecv as sync score directly

eliminate addrSeenByPeer
Do not use third party services for IP detection
docs: ThreadGetMyExternalIP has been removed

Show warning when using prerelease version

Changed layout overview page
Fixed relock on sending coins when "for staking only" is activated
Fixed periodical gui lag
Fixed PoW reward in overviewpage
Added PoS diff to overviewpage

replace custom GetFilesize() with boost::filesystem::file_size()
Drop release times for CNode
remove double #define CLIENT_VERSION from version.h
remove option to build without ipv6 support
added auto-create conf file if not have

( commit at actual release
change theme images from jpg to png
add checkpoint
bump version -> 2.4 )
---------------------------------------------

This one's been a long time coming, so it's all the more welcome for that!

Ongoing development of NET should silence the fudders who have been claiming it's a scam.  Personally, I've always had faith in this project, albeit you have to have a lot of patience with the glacial pace of change.

Keep going NET team; we'll get there!!  Wink

And I just realised NET will soon be 3 years old!

Current Netcoin Wallet Version 2.3.1?

New version not realise yet?

Correct, that is the current wallet. The new one is 2.4 and you can find it here https://github.com/netcoinfoundation/netcoin/releases/tag/2.4 Please note that you will have to re-download the blockchain as we now use leveldb.  Also note, this is not a mandatory update but is highly recommended.  What one should do for this update that is recommended, is to take the NetCoin appdata folder and rename it, so the client don't read it. Run the new 2.4 client and make sure it syncs up properly, then shut it down and replace the wallet.dat file in the newly created NetCoin folder within the appdata>roaming folder.  Then if everything is fine you can delete the 2.3.1 files. In this way, if anything were to not work out for someone you can simple revert back to the previous client 2.3.1

Exchanges can choose to update or not. It's up to them. We are still in the works on more updating for Netcoin. Good things do take time. We had a much bigger update initially but it proved to need more testing.

As stated it is NON mandatory, but is recommended because of the removal of IRC. If we look back to cryptsy's claim of lucky7coin and the hack due to IRC.. Netcoin had to take action to remove this.

Everything should work fine but we will be here if anyone has any issues or questions.

Go NET!

For the people who have a Pi3 with raspbian we now have a Netcoin client for you Smiley

It only works on a Pi3 though with raspbian, I don't think it works on other OS like NOOBS.
