Sort of the same way gold was seized and simply made illegal to possess.

Now try that with Bitcoin Smiley

The governments won't be happy to see bitcoin replacing fiat money, as they can't control or manipulate bitcoin.
And so, they will set up all kinds of restrictions to hinder the development of bitcoin.

I agree with this: D
government may consider it too easy to get bitcoin, since bitcoin enaknya be in the mine, while the original paper money which could in mine: D
I would strongly disagree. Fiat money allows a government to control the economy (to some degree). It also is a means that allows the government to force citizens to pay taxes, and helps the rule of law (if someone does not pay taxes, fiat can easily be seized while bitcoin cannot).

I do believe that within time bitcoin will take over fiat however it's going to take a lot of time and we probably will not see it for many years to come. The only problem with it over taking fiat is how long will it be before governments find a way to put their laws on it? Will they ever find a way if it did take over fiat?

Come on guys, please...
A lot of you are very intelligent people to be on this forum to began with.
But think about what every is saying for a moment....
We know how powerful and evil the banking cartel is, with that said do you really think that they are going to let bitcoin replace their currency?
OF COURSE NOT

However, I do think digital currencies are the future, but unfortunately the banking cartels will create their own, and pursued governments to PUSH THEIR AGENDA

It depends how long you are talking about...if its 10-15 years nothing major is gonna happen...if you talk of 100+ years then I guess FIAT will be history to be read in books Smiley

Its hard to imagine BTC taking over physical money , considering the amount of notes in circulation and not every person has digital access..

So it might take lot of time..

Fiat money will slowly go away as government realize it is cheaper and more convenient to issue their own currency in crypto form.

bitcoin can not be seized however financials agencies can be forced to close accounts on corporations that accept them as well as penalties. Simply put, laws will be put in place to protect the central banks. The only other possibility is that bitcoin is entirely independent with no exchange value and therefore has no external rate. I am not sure how such economics would play out.

Yes I think that bitcoin will replace FIAT all over the world, but it's code should be improved again and again.
But I don't think It will replace FIAT,Never.Only bitcoin adopters in their world they would see BTC replace the FIAT not knowing that the world is not just what they see and believe to be.It's vast and it's not even possible for BTC to replace 10% of worlds FIAT

We shall see how it all plays out. It's part of what makes Bitcoin so exciting.

I believe that cryptocurrency (possibly not Bitcoin) will eventually take over as the major financial instrument. It could take decades, though.

Will disappear the money as we know it? There are many news about companies who already accept BTC. This revolutionary currency is growing and it does thanks to the trust of users. But.. are this digital currencies the future of money?  Huh Huh

http://brokerstars.com/blog/1137/

Sure, just because they're much better than fiat. It will take many years, as it must be easier to use before everyone can start using them. And governments will try to fight against them, but they won't be able to stop them.

Dollar is going to collapse and a totally new currency is going to be created.

I don't know if bitcoin will be of any use by then.

I agree that bitcoin will likely never end up outright replacing fiat, but I think it could certainly supplement it.

I would not discount it replacing most fiat based transactions that occur over the internet, especially with "trusted" sellers.
