My point is that buy wall is so far off the money its just there to warn someone trying to push the price down with a sell wall.

Not all buy walls push, though. Some pull.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

ding ding ding. =)

edit; or atleast they try.  I'm stcikin' to my guns and pulling this guy up to $11.99885 ...

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

Lets see if a new 20k or 30k wall stands up in the days to come,
Or perhaps not... ;-)

Look at 7$ hombre!

This is like a nuclear standoff... everybody showing their sh*t nobody wants to fire 'em off.

Spekulatius:

7$ wall is a buying wall, If it has been an error, the seller would absolutelly need to buy low... all I say is that if my (unprobable) presumption is ok, we wont see any 20k wall in sell price...

Why not a 20k+ BTC SELL wall?? We saw many of those TODAY (UTC) and they were not only limited to that size. The largest I saw was about 50k BTC tall. If pirate really wants to stand tall to his promise to keep prices down, the best thing he could do was to wildly swing prices around as he did yesterday, as soon as we get into rally mode. That way he is nearly always in control (putting his BUY walls with the trend and then suddenly selling huge amounts at will) and is going to discourage traders to participate in any rally efforts, because they can be sure that he will tear down prices merciless.

What he did is a sure way to lose money, and a way to wow his clueless flock. Nobody is making 10% per week doing such antics as selling into bid 1$ below the market price. Not consistently anyway.

That's why I'm convinced he didn't do anything. But claiming he did sure is nice publicity to lure more people into his scheme isn't it?

The market seems extremely bullish. I'm tempted to say that the market is even more bullish than I am, which is a bit scary. We've been at $8.5 for the last 18 hours or so and the price just keeps rising with no sell offs whatsoever. Nobody wants to sell. Pretty much testing $9 again right now.

Nobody wants to sell but neither do I. I wouldn't be too happy buying more either if I was buying. It's a very testy situation in my opinion.

I agree with the fact that even after the insanity of last night, staying at 8.5 is super positive.

And while there have been no huge buys or sells, there seems to be lots of activity still.  This is also positive.

Nobody wants to sell.

the unprecedented number of withdrawal requests i got last night says different.

it can't just be a coincidence that they're all withdrawing after the price goes up.

i'm sure it's taken a lot of people by surprise; people that are still in the process of getting their coins into gox.

Ideally it would be nice to base for a while in the top half of this range we put in for the 17th - that would show conviction to the move so far and healthy construction for higher prices.

Is it a difficult process?

I'd read the large number of withdraws to mean that the coins are already there.

Is it a difficult process?

Depends on how you store your bitcoins.  If there in your wallet, it only takes 6 blocks.  If they're in a paper wallet, you have to import it first.  If that paper wallet is in a safety deposit box (or better yet a buried chest with a treasure map), it could take a little time.

Pirate was stating that selling 10s of thousands of coins would not be possible without his lenders. Maybe some got scared to actually loose their coins if pirate just sells them all?

Of course, some people just saw a demonstration of what exactly their coins are being used for i.e. for selling them on mtgox. Not withdrawing it from pirate (if anything is there) would be at least unwise given the circumstances.

So you think pirate is already trapped in his own short squeeze and will thus be bankupt soon?
