seems the branson currency symbol is very similar to the bitcoin mark.

That symbol has been representative of the Thai Baht since before Bitcoin existed.

bitcoin can slide without any copyright... why? because there is no single entity to sue... dummy... it'd be a nightmare for any lawyer...

i'm not sure who your calling a dummy?  if every decent sized bitcoin outlet got a cease and desist, like mtgox and bitcoin.org, telling them to stop using a trademark or legal actions will ensue...
