Dat dump doe

wowza.... looks like around 40k XMR just got dumped.  Shocked

I don't doubt that is big money defining a line here.

Also should remember when we become most profitable coin to mine that is going to attract a special kind of temporary whale.

Pull up the charts on Bitcoinwisdom. It looks like the Dump on Polo was a full hour before the rise of BTC.

It was coordinated dump for maximum effect..

1st Whale dumps big and puts the market into panic mode.
2nd BTC spikes... when least expected as you said aprox 1 hour later

Yeah, but when you are doing as much volume as we had today on a rise and comparing that to a really short period on the drop that seemed to happen as 1 big dump, that is different.
I don't know, didn't look, but were there dumps that large during the leg up today? I got the feeling it was way way smaller that that but I didn't look much, so maybe I stand corrected.

Yup, I am guessing you are referring to the whale who has a perma show on TV for MAXimum effect?  Wink I am pretty sure he will get in on the train any moment if he hasn't already and then the announcements on TV about its estimated price and the pumps. All script work has been seen before.

There are so may events that are non technical that still need to be played out, adoption by several exchanges one by one being triggers as well.

The mini dump yes but not the Big dump.  1 3min candle does not a dump make.

Not quite that large, no.  But the big dump period(~500K?)  (not the 40K trickle) definitely dumped into a lower, less dynamic book.  Looks like 5K orders is having a hard time maintaining now, though it was dumped down to ~3000.

Difficulty recently over 3.5 billion, new ATH. Still very much lagging price though, so expect more increases. Monero network getting much more secure. Virtuous cycle.

LOL @ all the panic sellers on Polo...  Grin

I bought a little at 188.  Does this mean I am falling for the whale dumpers master plan?

No, it means you had your order in place  Cry

I thought to catch it after the first bounce, but was off by 0.00001 or so and missed out.  Not looking like a retest is coming soon  Shocked

Awww y'all came back to get me  Tongue

Long Live Monero

If thats the case it had the opposite effect, the first thing that went in my mind after seeing BTC going up was... someone is buying more BTC to acquire moneroj since its the easier way still.

I've had 2 people inquire how to get XMR (therefore BTC).  Not interested when I put BTC in front of them early 2013.  Not interested when I put XMR in front of them 2014.  I'm used to it. Same disinterest when I made the case for gold <$300.    Suddenly FOMO on BTC2 strikes, and its a good idea.  Takes some longer to grasp the potential than others.

Its all fun and games until someone makes a fortune  Wink

If Monero passes Dash in price, then the drinks are on me  Grin

You know I was only kidding, right?  Wink

No. It's easy to imagine some people being very easily able to afford this under this circumstance. I guess I'm not getting my beer now. Sad

I'll say this. Ill buy everyone a drink when we are #2 on coin market cap. (unless its only because everything else cratered into oblivion). And I'm not kidding. I have to recognize you though as long time poster in this thread and you will have to post a pic to prove you really spent the monero on a drink Wink.

Holy Mother of All Profit!    Shocked

Looking at the price this morning I'm dumbfounded. Was a great late night up swing.  Coffee is just hitting my brain and still processing the new price.  Glad I'm holding.  The only coins I have let go of are for Bounties and Development, and I bought a few of those Silver Monero Physical coins from Cryptonic just as a souvenir.

Thanks to everyone for making the Monero community great.  Feeling grateful.

Welcome to bitcoin 2011 and 2013. So great to be here again Cheesy. Nothing more fun than threads like these at those brief moments of euphoria.
