I am a speculator.  I do use Monero to buy things.  But I also buy it to hold it because I think it has the potential to be worth much more in the future.  Unfortunately for me I have lost almost all my XMR holdings.  I know it's popular to talk about boating accidents... but I just keep mine on USB keys, and then I leave them in pants pockets and wash them and then dry them (I wonder which part of that does the true destroying?) so the private keys are gone and my dozens of XMR are lost.

But I keep trying!

To continue my recent trend of "talking my book"...  I am taking one LAST (seriously... cut me off after this one, I can't make it home if I have another) dip into my precious BTC pile to supplement my XMR holdings.  I have entered one last time (I SWEAR IT THIS TIME I REALLY DO) @ .0168 - .017.

Wish me luck!  Let's see if can not lose these too.

You know one of the things I bought with my monero is a Cryptosteel. Wink  Another was a Ledger Nano S.

Water damage doesn't sound too bad, have you attempted to recover some data?

LOL just yankin' yer chain brother... hell, what do I know?  Probably cAPSLOCK really HAS lost all his Monero, it's probably not a joke... poor guy.

Lord knows *I* myself really HAVE lost a ton of paper wallets over the years as I keep stupidly taking them out on the sailboat with me, and -- dammit, every time -- they just always seem to blow overboard. I try and catch 'em and just never can...

Sure is lots harder to 'salvage' the info from THAT level of "water damage", dontcha know Cheesy

Oh yeah..."sink in"..."water damage"...I get it now...I think?

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day.  Give a man a Poisson distribution and he eats at random times independent of one another, at a constant known rate.

That was uncharacteristically nice of you!  But no.  There is no hope for recovering my losses.

I do seem to have "sunk" the price with my entry...  all is right in the world at least.  Maybe one more purchase!  Just a little one. (I CAN QUIT ANYTIME I WANT TO!)

So... Moroneros do you still sit in noMore?

Dude... WTF do U think, srsly?

Isn't it abundantly clear (to even an obvious thick-head troll like you) that we-here are mostly all long-term XMR HODLers?

We don't CARE much at all around here about the small daily dip&pops. We wait patiently for those epic beautiful tall tall TALL green candles -- which then tend to set new, solid, higher-up FLOORS -- once or twice a year, as they come.

Go try spreading your day-trader gambler FUD somewhere else LOL  Cheesy

The only regret I have is that I didn't hodl more Sad

It was a star trek joke. Right off the cuff too. There has to be someone here who can appreciate. I thought you were my people.

What ICO? This is Monero, not some charade with a fancy website promising to suck your dick if you give them your bitcoins.

To get on topic a moment... this price action is interesting to me.

We have

BTC relatively flat
BCC rallying strongly against BTC
Alts seem to be rallying against BTC
But the crummier alts are doing well while the better projects languish.  (I put XMR in this camp)
... There there's ripple...

As to XMR.  I feel like there are some strong developments and rumors out there... Is this sell the rumor and buy the news?
