Eh, I was trying to point out where our minds were with regard to price predictions. Debating whether or not Bitcoin would reach $2000 or Monero $50 by the end of the year seems very, very conservative in retrospect. How many expected Bitcoin's price to crash after it surpassed 3k?

Though I'm still waiting to buy back some Monero at 0.002 as well, so I'm not too good at these guessing games.

If the reptilian weren't a lunatic scammer then probably all three would have come to fruition. Have you seen some of the crapola with $100M marketcap now? Completely centralized dorkfest spreadsheet rpg seems like it could be  worth more than at least some.

You got that right! did you see my Bitcoin-Moon ANN thread. LOL there already is one! hah

I certainly thought there would be a large retractment but suddenly getting all the mainstream attention threw out all possibilities of calling the market. But when this thing pops it's gonna be epic. Probally be years as those bankers know how to run a scam forever and then not have to pay for it.

These guys are tied to Bytecoin right? Run by some Russion Mafia guy? Thought it would happen when they made enough cake off of adding BTG. So it's just a couple of guys on reddit whining over $140?

WELL, that would make a hell of a lot more sense! Thx. Smiley

So who wants to bet this is what takes down the world computer? Rather fitting I'd say. LOL

How many expected Bitcoin's price to crash after it surpassed 3k?

Guilty as charged. I had been telling family and friends to buy bitcoin for years and none of them wanted to hear it. It was around 2,000-3,000 dollars they all came to me and said "well im starting to be convinced should I buy some now" and I was telling them no! At this point I suspect they just think I'm a bastard who wants to gloat and doesn't want to share in any of the success. Cheesy

Yeah, similar here, sometimes you just can't win! I tell them, you didn't listen a year ago and I have no clue today but I wouldn't buy and I've been wrong. For the last week I just say Idunno. Smiley

I did decide to go out on a limb yesterday and tell my moms boss that he should totally buy monero though. Cross fingers monero doesn't crash and mom finds herself out of a job. Grin

I need monero asap. Do you guy think a dip is coming soon like a correction?

Monero tends do well except when btc is rocketing. And btc is having something of a small correction right now. I suspect the 0.0164 that we are at right now IS your correction. It was a lot higher recently.

Monero had good potential as like Ethereum. You can place your savings in Monero for future. You can't expect this for future. You should not depend this for short term profit. Many had invested their money in Monero now.Now it's just crossed  250$,need miles to go on.

I member XMR price per coin was higher than ETH and DASH last january, looks like we'll see the same very soon Smiley
Don't know who's pumping BTC at this insane price, I doubt its the people, looks more like those who once said - Give me control of a nations money supply, and I care not who makes it’s laws - maybe they can't beat BTC but they can surely buy enough to control the price and wealth of millions like they always did.
We're lucky Monero is still cheap and gives us more time to grab some before the price goes too high, keep them secret, keep them safe, monster's prying eyes are watching ...

I would have bet a 3k bitcoin on it, hence why I sold off like 20 around that price  Cry

Anybody know if there’s any weight to this story, or is it just some random person on reddit? I’d hate to see an exchange exit scam, of course I don’t use HitBTC so I’m not really in a panic.

Dunno. Monero has been rising lately so it is due to correct a bit, although with Bitcoin on the rise it it may just end up shadowing Bitcoin and continuing to go up.

Nice pop for Monero, currently $264 and it looks like a solid pullback for bitcoin. Onward and upward!

I agree, but calling the top is so difficult. Will Bitcoin peak at 20k or 40k? or 80k?

Remember this?

The following clauses hold true in 50.01% or higher probability (in my opinion), so I can bet 1:1 on anyone (OTC, any amt&currency(or cross-currency)) who does NOT believe (every item is a separate bet in this case);

if you bet (correctly) that:
A) nothing happens, I pay 7:1;

if you bet that
B) at least one does not happen (and they all do, by 31.12.2017), you pay 7:1):

CLAIMS:

1. Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $2000 this year.

2. Monero (XMR) will reach $50 this year.

3. CK will reach $100 million market cap this year.

I am open to favorable early settlements. I need to raise about $10 million to pay my debts.

That was only seven months ago.

That was actually a pretty good bet, very spot on, it pushed. Especially when you knew #3 was false from the start. Smiley

But of course we all know no-one would have ever collected if they won. Lol

If the reptilian weren't a lunatic scammer then probably all three would have come to fruition. Have you seen some of the crapola with $100M marketcap now? Completely centralized dorkfest spreadsheet rpg seems like it could be  worth more than at least some.

At one point in 2016 I actually thought the reptilian had learned the lesson that large short Monero positions were a prescription for financial ruin. Sadly I was mistaken.

Edit: I understand he also shorted Bitcoin at around 10% of the present value earlier this year.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card
