I venture that almost everybody here is a ballsy risk-taker who presses their limits.  Most of us will suffer for it (but in very limited, almost ludicrous, sense of "suffering", on the broad human scale), and a few will bank big-time.  My prayer is that the good guys fall mainly in the latter camp.

Truth.  If you are dabbling or swimming in crypto, especially alts, you/we are most certainly content/compelled to gamble/gambol on the edge  Cheesy
The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

These are problems of human nature (risk taking), innovation distribution, the social order and economic system in general. This is not Monero related. (And most of it, isnt even that bad, as it first seems.)

Moneros distribution and whole launch is very fair. (What can't be said about most other coins.)

One major thing I would love to see happening to Monero is to be accepted in one of the main bitcoinexchanges.
Perhaps bitstamp could add Monero, too? Then we could have more liquidity and the price of Monero is not that much dependent on the price of bitcoin.
Perhaps MEW could take this as a challenge for 2015-2016?
This kind of acceptance would be huge step forward for Monero and might cause even a nice rally as converting fiat to Monero is made more straightforward. Now the fiat-converting to Monero is as complex process as it is to use bitcoins anonymously.  Wink

It keeps going around 135k Satoshi, nobody's expected a rise soon as I see from your writings. So is it valuable price to sell and buy low later?

I do not want to give advice but I can only tell what I am doing.
I am watching dips and then nibbling here and there.
Definetely not buying a lot at one shoot since it just leads to highish average price but patiently buying little all the time.
Selling low is not something I am planning to do. I am not personally trying to speculate on bearish trend but I am buying and storing them for long term deeply frozen storage units.
I am interested in selling when the price starts to rise, and also then I am selling only small incremends at time since I do not need those money desperatively I have put into Monero so I am able to waite for the highest prices and still holding Moneros.

Cost averaging approaches tend to work very well over time particularly with a highly volatile asset such as Monero.

i know it probably happens often, and when it does its only fleeting...

but BTC just dipped below 300$.

and everything else shows a -% 24 hr change leading all the way up to 19 (XMR) +1.82% on coinmarketcap, (except for Supernet, which isn't even a currency)

silly markets

Up 10% against BTC. There have been several days where almost every major coin is totally red except for Monero. I find that very interesting. As we've discussed, XMR is a hedge. There's some small (but not minuscule) chance that XMR ascends to the crypto throne, or at least becomes part of a ruling triumvirate in the crypto world. The Lepidus to BTC's Octavian. That chance grows significantly as bitcoin moves back down towards the 100s and Mark Antony's LTC remains bed-ridden with disease. There are at least a few big players in the market who realize this. The hardcore cryptoanarchist geeks like Satoshi, if he's still around, are almost certainly paying attention to Cryptonote technology.

The market just keeps running away from my bids.  Things are NOT going as planned.  Cry

In the midst of a falling XBT/USD price. Hmm...

If 2015 is the year the alts really start to take on Bitcoin as number one, I wonder if Monero will be up there with the other giants, Ethereum, Bitshares, etc...

My fear is that Monero gets left behind.

If it's not to bad just buy at market price. In the long term it's not much difference.
