Well, another 100k of previously presumed lost supply is now available not exactly bullish. How much of that gets sold depends on whether the owners had written the loss off and thus would be happy to dump for anything to recover their $/BTC or how many of them are real investors in the coin and are happy to have added to their XMR stash.

This is also a bearish signal.
I understand that the current holders need an exit door and therefore they are trying to convince people buying at these topish prices.
Risto is anticipating for 0.0013 but I am more bearish. I am afraid we go sub 0.0011.

Sell a little buy a lot. Go long on XMR. If it pans out we can be sitting pretty. If not then not a lot lost. Never put in more than you can afford to lose. Winners not Whiners. Any other old sayings?

Positive from this:

We can observe what a total failure scenario for Risto's CK game would likely do to the market.

I believe similar amounts of XMR have been invested into both.

We do not even know if Risto dumps all the Moneros from the game to the markets. He has not commented this if I am not mistaken.  Wink

Don't think he would be dumping that on the xmr market, it would tank the price immediately. He also has his own stash, so not sure why he would sell now, I am curious since he is a whale, how much xmr is he holding?

Crypto-Kingdom is the first MMO RPG to have an ingame cryptocurrency. We use XMR as the accounting unit, and the game has already absorbed 35,000 XMR (10,500 USD) (0.5% of XMR supply) of user balances in the system. It is now going online with a custom gaming software, with the intention of gaining much more players and visibility and use for XMR and crypto in general.

See quote in bold.

On the other hand it could raise more confidence in XMR itself (because the devs helped with the recovery) and people might buy more to average down. Unfortunately, we will never know for sure.

Congratulations, you might have got quite good price for them.
Monero is simply not yet ready for astronomical prices.
Also the markets are way too immature for Risto's friends to buy.
Perhaps in a few years the emission is low enough for any serious rallies.
For now, we just enjoy these small rallies where we can sell our overweight to the strength.
The condition for a lasting rally is the strength that is able to absorb all the shaky hands' selling pressure. Now it looks really bad for it, the coin is way too heavy compared the ability of the community to purchase it.

Not to mention that the whales are not interested themselves to accumulate more. Aminorex told on xmas that his limit is now up and he is not looking for increasing his stash. Risto's stash has reached its limits already on summer 2014.

The whales that want to buy a significiant stash (like 5 million Moneros) can make the price rise, especially if there is a war between two whales. We have not seen this.

I am not being pessimistic but rather realistic.

Ain't stopping them... just the price will rise when they get willing enough!  Cheesy

I'm still following Monero. I just think it's overpriced now and there's a selling pressure in short term.

Not ever because of the minimum maintenance reward of <1%/year. But it will certainly take a long time at that rate to add up to a lot (> 70 years to double).

Yup. Me too.
Although this might be a trap but probably not... Time will show. I sold my trading stash but left the core position untouched.

I hope thats the case (for now), but crypto has the property of behaving the exact opposite of what most people want (or what they say publicly).

note: I have not sold any, just waiting it go lower to increase position.

So you also think this is not a bargain price to buy Monero currently?

I think what I think has little impact on the market, I'm merely speculating based on my wish of increasing my holding but willing to gamble that if it goes higher I'll pay the price.

If we have enough people like you and me who thinks the price will go down, it will eventually do it. It works like self fulfilling prophecy first and once the dump starts, it changes into a falling snowball. Seen this so many times already.  Grin
