^^^^ last four posts posts above that one

@kurious, well you asked..lol Wink

@nanobrain: Yep, I know... but at least it drew a few firm speculative comments (and a decent graph) out and interrupted the TC bashing stuff  Wink

"bash...bash".....oh sorry. Wink

Yes, MasterLuc's stuff is always interesting.
And it's interesting how there is a divergence of opinion and what that opinion is based upon.

Yesterday, i'd have said that we have to go to .004 due to TA but now I'm looking at BTC at 740+ and XMR going up (on low volume admittedly).

Who the hell knows anymore....you may as well offer a new born to the Gods.

Hey... it wasn't particularly directed at you, nor was it unjustified to call him out.

I just wanted to get some serious analysis at a moment which looks pretty volatile all over crypto and will of course affect - and test - XMR.

Hey, I know you weren't having a go at me...I was just having some fun Smiley

And I agree with what you say re. BTC -- I have deliberately remained agnostic with regard to blocksizes/core/segwit and the rest; I have enough to think about in the real world without cluttering my head with all this technical stuff Wink

But it is disconcerting that the cryptosphere appears to be approaching such a significant fork in the road forward.

...

I expect ETF  approvals anytime soon. There is likely a fair bit of hedging going into btc from institutional investors. Probably coupled with some announcement resolving the blocksize stalemate for maximum impact if they can ever agree. Once that happens we are in uncharted territories IMHO so this could go big. Way bigger than last ATH is possible

Without an increase in the blocksize, I don't see the justification from a fundamental point of view for an increase in the the Bitcoin price above its all time high. If there is an increase in the blocksize then multiply the maximum blocksize in MB by the ATH in USD. I would spend some time on this site https://blockchain.info/blocks to really understand what is going on  with Bitcoin.

I am talking fundamentals here. As for what crazy thing speculators will do who knows. There was the ATH of ~2.4 million USD for ZEC for example.

I pondered blockchain.info a little while back. Bouncing of peak size consistently. So yeah, she's full it seems and the bottleneck of backlog looks ever growing. But will this stem the hype? The last few days were completely out of my frame of reference. I am actually void of appropriate words for what I observed.

But at least I finally understand that Zero Knowledge Proof refers to the buyer and not some tech.

Rite, LMFAO !!!

Yeah, its holding up very well.  The bloodbath for alts will begin IF the honey badger beats the high from June or July, Huobi 5180.

That's a very bullish formation emerging on the one day BTC chart.  What is the current received wisdom on how high it may go if we start testing usd$800?

I expect ETF  approvals anytime soon. There is likely a fair bit of hedging going into btc from institutional investors. Probably coupled with some announcement resolving the blocksize stalemate for maximum impact if they can ever agree. Once that happens we are in uncharted territories IMHO so this could go big. Way bigger than last ATH is possible

Not only possible, I would say even probable....
Nobody knew about bitcoin back in 2013 and now there are thousands more businesses and motivated individuals aware of btc and using it
More than likely the next ATH will pull us up over 2k and maybe considerably higher than that....

Yeah, feels like we're going to test that support at 0.007 though. Not sure it will hold if BTC continues to go up.

Monero overtaking Dash again.   Cool

Dash rekt like Hillary's campaign!    Cheesy

Of course XMR is always crushing that scamcoin in terms of volume, despite it being traded on more exchanges.

I speculate the price of Monero will go to the moon when we get traction on major exchanges besides Poloniex.

Given we went to $12/XMR just with the capitalistic power of Poloniex, I'd expect $120-$240 when Monero trades on Coinbase, BitMEX, Kraken, Bitfinex, Gemini, BTC-E, etc.

I wonder how much the general perception that Monero is the Polo coin has to do with lack of major exchange adoption? Apart from more difficult implementation that is

I suspect a lot of coins pay hefty bribes to get listed on bigger exchanges.  I've heard rumors of bribes up to 100k being asked.

Profit motive will be the catalyst for acceptance on other major exchanges.

Other exchanges are letting Polo have a monopoly on all the sweet sweet trading fees it's getting from facilitating ~100% of XMR's multimillion dollar volume.

But it's difficult to compete with Polo's liquidity, lending, and margin trading.  Those are killer features.

EDIT:  I've heard from an impeccable source that Monero's lack of multisig is *THE* constraint on large exchange listings, as their security models (and perhaps contingent insurance policies?) require that functionality.

That's why I was asking how we can speed up multisig development, with the goal of achieving implementation parallel with or soon after RingCT.

I will ask a math PhD buddy if he can do the peer review himself, or help find a qualified specialist, then put up a FFS request based on his feedback.

It's quite clear that RingCT *must* be stable before multi-sig can be added on top. Not much you can parallelize in this development effort.

Sounds very fatalistic; there are of course choices at every juncture.

Those choices may (or may not) still arrive at the same point but they will determine the time, velocity and weight of that arrival.  For all the Clinton bashing she remains a far better choice of 'train driver' than a thin-skinned sociopath with a junior school understanding of the world and who has no coherent policies other than feathering (or should that be gold-plating) his own nest.

As the British have discovered, voting for dramatic change as a protest against the 'system' is not the wisest of ideas.
