We also hit USD ATH.  <monerobux> Monero price in USD = $15.95

Does that means anything?

It does to me =) great news for XMR - if the bitcoin bubble bursts and Alts are pumped, then it puts XMR in an extremely strong position!

This is awesome... IMHO Kraken all by itself or plus maybe just one more decent size exchange (coinbase maybe if they actually LISTEN to Fluffy???) will be more than enough to push us up into 3rd place market cap.

 Grin

P.S. {Edit} LOL had to edit to add the obligatory: "MOON" Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

XMR would make a lot of sense for Coinbase, given their support for bigger blocks.  Brian Armstrong could use it to make another political statement, same way they did with Ethereum.  Could do it right before the Satoshi Roundtable and really play up that angle.

However, I wonder if the privacy aspect could cause them KYC concerns.

More good news already! 2017 ... The Year of The Phoenix ....  Cheesy

Shame Kraken messed up their blog post and are talking about the HF being on 5th January. I emailed them to correct this, and got automated response (may take 48hrs to get back etc), but perhaps one of the devs who is in direct contact with them can give them a nudge and get it corrected as soon as possible  Wink

If they're smart about it, they could just play it off to the IRS like, "Oh yeah gee well sorry 'bout that but y'know it's just sort of out of our control, right?  I mean, yeah sure of course we'd LOVE to help ya out here and keep tracking all our customers transactions beyond just the first hop like we've been doin' for y'all so far with bitcoin, but gee wow looks like now, too bad, but it's just sort of not possible to do that anymore, what with this new improved Monero coin that we just kinda sorta have to support now, for our customers, just 'cuz, well y'know, market-demanding it type reasons... right, buddy?  Really gee would love to help ya out here, but wow just can't do it, so... sorry for your loss, I guess"... In other news Kraken takes on XMR:

http://blog.kraken.com/post/155126375697/kraken-launches-monero-trading

EDIT: And we just jumped over $15

Beat me to it! Smiley

I was surprised no one did - only posted as it was so damn quiet and yet the good news is piling up out there.  Gotta love XMR, been smiling like an idiot rather often of late.

No volume on Kraken yet, I did check...  I would put some coins up at silly prices, but I can't bear selling any Wink

After corresponding with them for years on the subject, and countless irrelevant emails from them, not a word do I receive when they finally wake up.  WTF.

I can't do it either, so I will send some fiat to liquidate instead  Tongue

Yes - personally on the way back down from $20.

Bitoin was 'too expensive' at $5 once.

Depends if you are a serious long-term HODL'er investor in a world-changing technology -OR- a quick-hit day-trading gambler just looking for "BTFD" noise?

Personally I bought XMR on Risto's say-so 'way back in the day just as a long term HEDGE against IF maybe someday BITCOIN might FAIL.

Which looks much more possible lately than it EVER did 'way back then... even still hard to imagine it could happen.  But... here we are.

Monero is seen as valuable I believe *precisely* because of this 4-or-5-Sigma chance that it might really actually be Bitcoin 2.0 and *replace* BTC at all.

So IF this is really true, then "MOON" for XMR is really the same as MOON for BTC, isn't it?  Like $100,000 to $1 Million per coin...

Hell of a fight on Polo for 0.016

Maybe panicking shorts holding the rise off - 8000 ish XMR for the last few cents up to it.

And BTC under 1000 on Stamp as I type.  Getting interesting...

Has anyone managed to deposit on Kraken?  It's been an hour and i don't even see a pending. Hope they are not pull a craptsy and use the deposits to dump and then rebuy.

Took hours tog et verified and still pending on tier 3 to use EFT. Assholes are no better than coinbase. They literally asked for my employer!!! Who the fuck do they think they are?

Idiots should have added XMR instead of ETH when we were contacting them. Now all the Ass burnt holders there will think twice about the next alt added.

EDIT:

Holy shit took an hour and finally showed up confirming. No answer from support ticket over 1/2 an hour.

There is no number for confirmations and it's going to take 15 of them.

Too late for arbitrage.

Asking for your employer? Is Kraken a US based company?
I really worry about exchanges and the amount of information they are collecting from their customers.
Exchanges and companies that convert fiat to crypto are getting a lot more attention from governments, not to mention the fact that they are a goldmine for hackers if someone can manage to get access to this information.

.0162 is 50% retrace from Sept high to Oct low significant resistance. Next level is .0186 if successfully breached. Looks like a pullback now.

They are in San Fransisco.  They have swallowed up smaller exchanges globally for the last few years.  Their CAN liquidity is shit, but options are few so I use it occasionally.  More now that XMR is finally supported.  And Yeah, their charts are horrible.

It is an invitation, someone wants us to go on a large leverage Long position. Good news! So he can dump on you easily - we will see tomorrow evening! ;-)

Actually, it's an invitation to short...  when you short XMR you need to borrow XMR, when you go long on margin you're borrowing BTC.
