So I was testing out CUDA miner today as it only uses the CPU (as far as I am aware) and I was getting 95.5 Mhash/s. When I use OpenCL miner however I get 110 Mhash/s. So I was wondering, does CUDA use my GPU (it would explain a fair amount) or does my GPU only generate a small amount of hashes.

This is the GPU I have: http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/26228-gigabyte-geforce-gtx-470-super-overclock-graphics-card/

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

No way you are getting 95 MH/s from your CPU so both miners are using your GPU.

Well that would make sense but im using GUI miner and there is no device thing for my GPU so I wasn't entirely sure. I was also getting some problems with my GPU when running OpenCL but it all runs fine on CUDA even with very graphics intense games. I guess 15Mhash/s is the cost of gaming on the same PC I mine with.

Thanks.

I only get 10-20 Mh/s with my GT 430.  You're lucky breaking 100.  I got a 6750 and I'm soaking in 200 Mh/s.  Ah...

I have just realised my mistake :|

OpenCL is for ATI which is why it was causing issues whereas CUDA is for Nvidia. I think I'm going to run a CPU miner just to test the Mhash/s i get from my CPU.
