I picked this card up just a month ago, but think I can make more now by investing my bitcoins. Looking for a 100 btc or better. Perfect condition.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Personally, I'm just not interested in new cards. The kings are still 58xx and 5970's and they are less expensive

I think you'd be better off selling it to a gamer. As was mentioned, Bitcoiners would be pricing it against the 5970.

I was going to sell my 7970, but after a while I fell in love with it and sold the 5870s in my main computer instead. The 7970 can be undervolted so much that they are quiet and cool while getting about 610mh/s. Maybe not the most BTC for the buck, but if electricity/heat/noise is any type of concern, 7970 is the way to go. Especially if your rig doubles as a regular use or gaming machine. |

Only downside to the 7970 is no downvolting in linux. I love the cards (have  but wish I could downvolt in linux... Watching as I might still grab it  |

Especially if your rig doubles as a regular use or gaming machine. 7970 is probably declining in value quicker than any income that 610mh/s minus electricity may bring in... yes, the only reason to get one of these would be for gaming... or if you're doing bitcoins as a hobby and dont mind losing money. |

sure, that may be true. but the best for gaming, I assume? i paid $700 for an 8800GTX, uhm, 6 years ago? i wouldnt make such a purchase just to lose money watching hash values |
