Temporarily ( I hope). We need to work on the issue behind the latest crashes. I'll keep you posted.

Still around.

Good luck getting it fixed.  Was a fun game until the crashes broke the thing.

If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, have the server boot it into memory upon startup.  Have the server save to two different files back and forth while updating each one intermittently so that if one corrupts upon write and crash, the other will be up-to-date minus one game (unless you update every 30 seconds or so as well which would decrease corruption loss.)  But yeah, it might be a good idea if you can manage two different partitions and save the files on each one as well.  ^_^
I know it seems very excessive, but it's pretty secure in my mind.

At this point I would *highly* recommend not playing the game until the have the server fixed as well as some mechanism for having games be started at the point at which the system failed.  Otherwise you'll get a scenario not unlike mine where you have a few bitcoins tied up in games, someone comes by and adds a new bet and then the game (suspiciously?) goes offline, leaving you with no way to reset the timers, nor get back to the bottom of the list for the jackpot, thereby losing all you put in there.

As time goes on I get more bitter having lost 8btc for this very reason, which might not seem a lot, but it is to small potatoes like us.  I feel like some sort of compensation be given, even though I know it won't since we played the game knowing it's a gambling site. But again, losing money to the "normal" course of the game is fine, but losing it due to system crash is what sucks.

The site may be visible, but all Bitcoinduit Rounds have expired and new games have not been allowed for several days. If/When we come back online, it will only be after we have isolated and resolved the problem causing the interruptions, drafted and posted an official Bitcoinduit policy regarding any future actions we will take regarding technical issues on our part, and with a renewed resolve to make the next incarnation the best yet.

It pains me to post this, but everyone directly involved in running and maintaining Bitcoinduit is also working hard on several other unrelated projects so I cannot say how long it might be before your favorite ponzi game is back in full force. Thanks for playing, it's been a blast.

Still around.

I was thinking of building a game Similar to Bitcoinduit, but with a different rule set.

could someone point me in the right direction to begin coding it, and the pluggins needed that would make it easy?

While I realize this is a necropost, I think it's more appropriate than starting a new thread for a site which seems to have been forgotten by everyone, including the devs/owners...

What's the word on this? Ever coming back online?

Your timing couldn't have been better. I, like you, was siting around waiting for bitcoinduit to come back on. Eventually, I got around to making my own bitcoinduit clone. It's called www.satoshidoshi.com. I have spoken to edd and ineededausername and they were ok with me doing this.

Currently, it's being beta tested. Check it out and tell me what you think!
