This is defiantly a scrypt miner with MHs on the list, My guess it will be 18.2MHs at around 0.92BTC at release, pulling 420W ATW.
This unit will be Ethernet stand alone same as the BTC units.

no need BitMain will actually deliver a working product whereas KfC will make excuses why they aren't. Also, the L1 probably won't catch on fire. Nice bonus.

It most likely is a scrypt miner. It says mh on the product page. Interesting to see how they revolutionize the scrypt market since they did with the bitcoin market and essentially setting the standard for miners (no more of that BS preorder for a few months)

It will only rocket if people think they can get a lot more LTC/Doge or convert LTC/Doge to BTC for cheaper than the price of mining BTC.  But since everybody buying can do the math if everybody buys it nobody wins except Bitmain.  A game of chicken...

LTC went sub $5 again just now.

that is not good.  A gridseed blade is 130-140 used on ebay  4 would be 520 usd hashing at  20mh and power is around 380-400 watts.

you can buy newer gear from zoomhash. built on gridseed tech

http://zoomhash.com/products/plug-and-play-46mh-s-1000w-scrypt-asic-package-door-to-door-within-5-business-days

above is 46mhs it will pull about 900 watts it costs 589 after the coupon zoom5344    comes with psu.     so 2.3x the hash for 1.2x the power and about the same power per mh.  So if bitmaintech can only provide a 18.2mhs unit at .92 btc it is obsolete.

Given Bitmain's reputation, here's hoping that they ship a scrypt miner made to order (not pre order) with a chance of an ROI. My guess is that it probably won't have the power of the upcoming mega monster miners (like the KnC's that haven't shipped), but will likely have a decent MH/s to BTC cost ratio.

I've been pretty happy with my S3's which are 50% of ROI from a BTC perspective after 30 days. If they can turn the same basic deal with scrypt mining, I'm very interested.

If they are using the 28nm process, the specs will be better; better than the KNC specs?

To beat Gawminer vaultbreaker at 750mh for 10000 usd, atleast bitmain should have 100mh for 1000 usd. Or maybe they make 50mh per 1 BTC ?

BTW hasra open preorder 100mh for 754 usd at "20 September shipment", some said its zeus's products.

I figured as much that you pulled it out of the ether so to speak.  I have had a lot of scrypt gear pass through my hands.  It need to be very low power to be any good. 30 mh for  400 usd and I am in.

A rig at those specs would NEVER sell at that price.  If I had to guess I would say it'll be in the 50-75MH range at 500-750W.  I would say price wise for that rig would be in the 1 btc range maybe a little more but not much.

This is of course a GUESS!  No reason for my guess just knowing what I've seen Bitmain put out with SHA they don't build BIG rigs.  Reasonable rigs with reasonable power consumption for the REASONABLE person who doesn't own a data center.

If everyone is going to buy the scrypt miner that is coming out, then its not worth buying anymore, the difficulty would sky rocket..

tell me about it have a first batch Titan for $10,131.80 usd...er difficult I would say to get ROI on this ..in that it is still vaporware
on the other hand the way folks speculate with alts I guess I can run the beastie longer then a bitcoin miner...(all them nice lcd's
and whirly sounds) sigh

live and learn

just buying coin now makes no sense to home mine that is for sure not at the current btc price and difficulty wars..I'm out

Forget the GAW Scrypt...4500 Watt for the 300 Mhash  machine  Huh. The only ones who will get ROI on this one, is those countries were people are able to make electric bugs = free electricity = non western countries.
The Bitmain is interesting and I know ZOOMHASH is on its way with a machine as well.

You are right - 3 months this is not a good deal. And alternates are in a really bad shape; Massive dump with new mining farms may highly harm them.

The price per MH will be too high for the difficulty and price of altcoins in December. With all this new scrypt hashing power coming online if you want to buy MH it needs to be mining ASAP if you hope to ROI on it.

I will wait until last minute to buy 1 or 2 (depending what the difficulty and ROI looks like by then)

There are unconfirmed, aka no pics, reports of knc's titans shipping. If that is true then the difficulty will be really high by December. Not only will their customers be mining but they will as well. December pre-order is way too risky.

Rule #1 of ASICs is that pretty much everybody (especially miners) get screwed.
The only winners are the companies that make the ASIC chips themselves and the companies that assemble the mining hardware product (and their resellers).

Hardware cannot reach a return on the investment (including the Titan). So... NO. Bad idea. Expect to lose your investment. Check calculators with a difficulty change over time to see if in 1 month you will be making the same... you won't be... there is simply too much hardware being brought online by too many manufacturers and they have only hurt themselves. Do not buy hardware, you will loose your investment. They are now knowingly trying to sell you goods they know you cannot profit from, but simple calculators say that you will.
Good Luck.

The L1 is looking better and better as we get closer to ship date.  I hope they open a second round for them soon after shipping B1.  If Scrypt stays close to where it is now profitability wise this is a no brainer.

See my post on the previous page - I got an email from them saying there would not be anymore batches of Antminer L1s.   Of course this could always change but officially, at least for now they said there would not be any other batches of L1s

Why would they only have 1 batch of it, they have spend so much time and money designing and to come out with a product and just sell like for like 1 time. Thats bad...

Look at products such as C1 so far one batch.

Some I think are to test out a product on some.  I can't see a advantage of stopping L1's.   Unless they know more speed will be needed by second batch.

Could also be because of the return they would get vs the price they would need to sell it at.  Scrypt prices and value aren't exactly improving same as BTC and not as many people buying ASICs as before.  They could be using their existing stock to mine for themselves.  Many different reasons why.  Also as someone just mentioned earlier - maybe a newer and more efficient miner is being designed and released making the L1 obsolete.
