Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

On average about every 85 years...

Now if you want newly generated coins, but are not so greedy that you want the whole 12.5BTC but just your share of them, you could mine at ckpool.org instead and you'll start getting newly generated coins in a week or so.

ahh, nice! I was on Eligius.st in the past and liked the feature of getting untainted payouts even wiht a small hashrate. but the pool seems alomst dead. if I start to mine there again it is like solo mining. will give it a try at ckpool.org. thank you!

9th/s is decent, when market swings I'll be pushing my s7 again pool side. Personally I mine for power independence. I feel utilities and expenditures are what taxes should go towards (IMO not MFB). Other wise a 2pac is is great for this pool. I hope every person is a hobby miner at some point plus manufactures market towards large scale farming, making a relateable asic meaningful and well thought out. Mining a small hash rate isn't a novelty and never will be.

I just added an old ebit E9 6.5T miner to the solo pool. I underclocked it to the minimum of 400M. It's pulling 600W at the wall and hashing at just under 4TH. It's costing me $1.15/day to run at my power rate.
A $1.15/day is a great price to pay to get a small chance to find a block, and make use of a "defunct" miner. If you run your S7 you can underclock it to get a savings on power but still have lots more hashing power than stick miners. I would test it first at the minimum frequency and see how many watts it's pulling vs hashrate.

Nice idea, I'm actually holding off on the s7's as I'm waiting for bull to power them up for -ckpool. Maybe my impatience will overwhelm me though. Still need more exhaust though ...

What is the probability of finding a block with an S9 13.5T at current difficulty?

@-ck

I show only 239 blocks found on block trail, not 251. Was the last block found on 7/22?

https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/pool/solockpool

It seems like the pool finds a block every month and a half on average, would you say that's correct?

Thank you,

Darco

About 1 in 23000 per day.

The first blocks did not have the same signature so they're not counted by block explorers. Yes last block was about then.

The pool used to find a block that often, but with current difficulty, that is not likely any more.
