should i be worried?
im using msi afterburner to see what the temps are at.
i have two 6990s in one motherboard

That's about the maximum you want them to be at, I'd suggest getting more fans.

Is your case closed? If so try leaving it open and letting it breathe open air for a while and see where the temps go. If they go down then you need more airflow in and out of the case. Also if they are side by side I would suggest loosening up the screws and putting a spacer between the tops of the cards so that they have can bring in more air.

they have about 1 inch in between them ill try the open case now. watercooling maybe? will that even help? |

Watercooling is not really a good idea due to complexity and cost.
Are you overclocking? If so, turn it down, and be sure to lower the memory clock as low as possible.
It's possible the ambient temp in your room is too high as well.

never oced, i lowered the mem to 650 before and it kept on crashing so its back to 1250, besides when i lowered it, it didnt change in temp. the temp in my livingroom is cool |

What case do you have them in? 6990's are pretty big and with dual gpu's they are putting off a lot of heat. Compounded by the fact that they blow some of that hot air back into the case from the back end of the card. You need a case that can ventilate a lot of heat. |

I would place the mobo on a desk somewhere, your temps will probably drop by 15 degrees celcius.

ahh well i just raised the fains from 60 percent to 89 percent
it dropped 10 celcius.
well.. summers coming im nervous

headdesk You didn't have the fan maxed? No wonder it was hot. ...You don't max gpu fans for no reason. Especially the 6990, at maxed its about 80 decibels, which is over the safety limit for humans. |

you are going to struggle in the summer with that setup, I have an antec 300 which for a budget case has excellent airflow had a 6870 +5870 in there, I'm thinking about picking up one of the HAF or lanboys (antec man). Invest in a good case it will save you stressing about coming home to a towering inferno.

It's only going to get hotter, but you can always adjust your core clock and turn it down a notch if it must be. There are always options to keep it running within reasonable temp, but you just might not like the ghash out of it. Ambient really is big part of keeping temps low regardless of fan speed after a certain threshold.
