Anonymous coins

I know this has been a big selling point for a while now.
Sure it has advantages depending on what you are purchasing.
If a dev wants his coin to have more real world adoption, I think any and every legal retail business will stay clear of such coins.
Also wouldn't be to anonymous if you could order from a place like newegg with your user account and shipping address.

Just feeling like the whole anonymous thing may be a little blown out of proportion.

Exactly why would you want to pay anonymously on Newegg that doesn't even make sense.
No, it is not blown out of proportions. I've anonymized so much money here, that I'm not sure if I'll get taxed at all.

Actually if he's avoiding taxes chances are he's paying some taxes.  And if he's employed and paying some taxes he is probably a net contributor.  Vs a lifelong welfare state recipient.  Or the uber rich who pay attorney & lobbies groups instead of taxes.

So as a taxpayer who pays my full taxes and always will.  I harbor no ill will (nor should other taxpayers).

Also don't you love having to buy all hospital supplies when you have to be treated? So much about using stuff.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

Unless you live under a state of nature, the state (and its people) provide the means for survival. It might not be pretty or fair or nice, but the ones that get ahead usually do so because they are able to play the game within the limited contours available, whether legally or illegally.

Your parents did not build a road out of nothing or because they are so brilliant or fantastic or clever. They used their advantages and got the job done.

Originally, I thought anon coins were used only for bad purposes. Now I realize it's a much needed feature to protect our rights from future tech companies. The amount of data and profile and therefore insights into the smallest details of your life have been gathered by Facebook and Google. Were you able to know just exactly the implications of this, it might be sickening. For most of us it's too late, like myself. They have my data. People don't know how bad it is because it hasn't been abused yet so much, but just like iCloud and those celebrities that thought everything was safe, we might wake up and realize it wasn't. Anonymity is one way we can start to protect ourselves again, even the normally people that aren't really doing anything wrong.

There are some loopholes for anon coins like the OP mentioned with having things delivered to your house. But many times it will work to help protect individuals.
