agreed ...

our test system - 5 x gigabyte aorus 1080ti extreme - is doing very very well ...

when rebuild it for production - it will be our 'base' system that will be the building block for cwi-thefarm ...

amazing cards indeed ...

I already have a rig of 6 RX AMD cards mainly for ETH  mining.

My main computer was not built for mining in mind but I figured out I can use it with a powerful single or maybe dual Nvida cards for some coins and make it earn the money I will be paying for  new Nvdia GPU

Cards are kinda expensive where I live. Used GTX 1070 400USD, Used GTX 1080 555USD. Used GTX 970 is around 210-230USD. New GTX 1080ti is like 900-1100USD.

I will not use more than two GPUs. Actually my mobo only supports Crossfire but no SLI so dual Nvdia cards will make no good for me for gaming but only for mining.

One option for dual Nvdia GPU would be using one of them for gaming while the other one mines and both of them for mining when I dont game.

Electricity cost 0.11-0.13 USD/Kwh. PSU is Seasonic X750-KM3.

I am more inclined to get a single GTX 1080ti rather than dual GTX 1070/1080 considering no SLI support of my mobo.

If I invest 950-1000 USD local purchase (or  775-800 USD international purchase) for a 1080Ti now--> Does it make sense for my condiitons?

If yes which brand and model would you suggest to buy? Can it ROI in 4-5 months or till the Volta GTX GTX 2070/2080 comes into market and kills it price and performance wise

Thank you all.

Yep AMD rig is a very nice heater Smiley but I would like to ROI for my hardware. Altcoin price is very good now. So I reckon I can convert my gaming machine into another single/dual GPU Nvidia rig as well.
At least GPU can pay for itself.

waiting mean lose money, a 1080ti can do $350 a month, this mean that every month without a 1080ti you are losing $350, never wait in mining it doesn't matter what they are going to release

Actually that the page I am on. One thing I try to decide is a single 1080Ti or 2x1080.

Comparison:

Pricing: Almost same (wher I live)

Mining: 2x1080 should do 900-1100 (based on calculators and user experiences)
1x 1080Ti is around 700 (though I read some modified miner can do 1000 with 1 card)

Power Consumption: GTX 1080Ti wins over dual 1080.

Gaming: GTX 1080Ti of course (since my mobo does not support SLI)

If I can really make 350 with a single 1080ti that would be awesome but I reckon it is somewhere around 270-300USD based on other experiences. 350USD is when everything is very efficient and optimized and with some luck maybe.

a 1080ti can do 1giga in skein, one giga can earn you 0.18 btc a month(on yiimp it say 0.006 a day x 30 is 0.18), $2k per btc that is $360 a month, electricity is negligeable...

Still it looks like the profitability is roughly the same as with the 1080? While the 1080ti will probably loose less value once once you sale them, but is more hash effective.

indead, but dual gpu mining is not a SLI, a gpu only require a few pci lanes to mine. The other problem is the cooling in a closed case..

And dont expect DGB to hold this price for long Wink you may be able to make a few days with huge rewards... thats all

There might be something wrong with yiimp skein pool. My hashrate reported by the pool is often a lot lower than the miner's showing. Other rigs at the same location mining ETH and ZEC don't have this problem so doesn't look like internet connection problem on my side. And the pool's total hashrate is also abruptly going down quite often.

I don't know I would be more worried about this new series of cards coming out called 'Vega'. Something about buying brand new cards and possibly being obsoleted in a month.

Also, not sure why you would buy a 1080ti, hash/$ is worse then a 1080 or 1070 if you scale down further. Density isn't that much better either.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

That was another concern for me as Vega and Volta are incoming relatively near future but I also wanted to mine asap.

Yesterday I got a used MSI GTX 980Ti for a good price so I can experience Nvidia mining. As far as I know GTX980Ti has a similar hash rate with GTX1070 but of course with more power consumption.

Cards are really expensive where I live but I bought used GTX 980Ti %30-%35 cheaper than I would buy a used GTX 1070. It is 1/3 of a GTX1080Ti maybe even less as 1080Ti is like 1000-1100 USD here.

This purchase enables mining as much as it can do while I wait for Vega, possible Volta news and/or a price cut on 1080Ti.

I will keep an eye on 1080Ti mining as well. If I catch a deal on a 1080Ti I will upgrade.
