I still very much use this thread and not the board. Ready to change though.

Ok, so there are people who find this thread useful yet so I'll leave it as-is and monitor.  [Edit: I changed the topic though to "Promoted articles" instead of just New articles since not all new articles will likely get indexed here.] I'll probably not be posting much here myself though.

Ok, let's see wether or not it dies out.

I miss julz' regular coverage.

I miss julz' regular coverage.

Yes, this was nice. But in this timer, there was maybe one article a day, or less. Now there are dozens.

I used to have a google alert about Bitcoin news, but in the last 5 Month it has just become to much.

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

Yep. Most days I just check this thread and some bitcoin-specific new sites (coindesk.com, thegenesisblock.com) and that's it. Otherwise it's overload.

I would pay some 10ct. per week for coverage via this thread Wink
I check the forum all the time and sure I could check reddit and bitcoin magazin but it's convenient to have all in one place.

I'm thinking this thread has outlived its usefulness.   There are many more new articles posted to the Press board that don't end up in this index, and now increasingly others being posted here in this thread and not in the Press board.

There are now mutliple new articles daily so there's no longer a need for a "prod", which was the purpose this thread had served.

Any objections to me changing the title and locking the thread?

Would be nice if they could follow the guidelines for submitting press news here. This thread does come in handy when others do follow the guidelines. Easier to stay up to date with whats going on with bitcoin @ this thread.

Imo, mods should start laying down the ruler for these guidelines at the least. Guidelines are written clean, clearly and easy to follow.

I dunno how they should or can start to make the guidelines stricter. Like, maybe put up a warning system strike on the forums, get a strike for not following or something. After so many strikes, won't be able to post in press for limited amount of time, then it resets after the limited time, example:week-5-days.

It's so much better to follow press in this thread than it is trying to find something new being buried buy old stuff that keeps getting bumped ect.

Good job to the ones that actually follow the guidelines, thanks to yous.

If you use a link to sort by date, threads formatted properly will appear with the most recent ones at the top:

And for those wondering why [having date as YYYY-MM-DD] is a big deal, ... if the posts are formatted this way, then a link can be used to see new articles sorted chronologically:
