This looks like Braintree news.. Nothing in relation to PayPal/eBay. This will allow merchants to accept Bitcoin payments via their mobile app..... FYI - let's not get too excited about this.

realistically, i think they will do a trial with braintree, and if all goes well, they'll spread it on over to paypal or ebay.

"PayPal and/or eBay now accepts bitcoin payment" NOT "Braintree allows Uber customers to buy services in app with bitcoin".

Yes. It's probably a lot more underwhelming than some might have hoped for. But it's not negative news so there's not much to be mad about. |

they are all one and the same company/subsidiary
for the profits and loses to be separated ebay would have to sell them
or file for bankruptcy on one of the subsidiaries,
the question is what exactly do they think they are doing?

BrainTree seems to be the architecture PayPal is now built upon. Sounds like for developers, this is bitcoin and paypal. Now, will the paypal interface devs get on board.

Come with a solution that is easy and doesn't involve 3 degrees of separation with Coinbase/Braintree app/PayPal/etc. Crypto makes all 3 of these companies obsolete the only one left is paypal with their Insurance business, I'd have to say any collaboration between these companies including ebay would possibly be more to do with wallet software analysis and setting up minning/node infrastructure than anything. |

True. Coinbase will have the liquid to help them in the cash out/conversion scenario. Hey, by chance do you know if Coinbase now supports Canadian banks? As of Jan/Feb they did not and didn't have plans.... Would be interesting to find out. |
