Improved Privacy: Taproot enhances GlobalBoost's privacy by making all transactions appear the same to outside observers. Regardless of whether a transaction is a simple payment or involves a complex smart contract, all transactions look identical, making it harder to distinguish and trace specific transaction types.

Efficiency and Lower Costs: By making complex transactions appear as simple ones, Taproot helps to save space on the blockchain, which leads to lower transaction fees. It also enhances the efficiency of block space usage.

Smart Contract Flexibility: Taproot expands GlobalBoost's smart contract capabilities, enabling them to be smaller in size and more efficient. It allows for more complex conditions to be set for a transaction to occur while preserving privacy and efficiency.

Multisignature Improvements: Taproot allows for more efficient and private multi-signature transactions (i.e., transactions that require multiple signatures to be processed).

Schnorr Signatures: Taproot introduces Schnorr signatures to the GlobalBoost network. This new type of cryptographic signature is more efficient than the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) previously used by GlobalBoost. Schnorr signatures allow for signature aggregation, reducing the size of transactions and improving privacy.

Future Upgrades: The introduction of Taproot also makes it easier to introduce further upgrades to the GlobalBoost protocol, paving the way for continued innovation and improvement.

It's important to note that while Taproot provides the tools to enable these features, it's up to wallet developers and other GlobalBoost service providers to integrate these features and make them available to users.

What a long, strange trip it has been! Lots of fun and more!
 
Today, April 20th, 2024, in our tenth year of our chain in operation the block reward will halve. The 480,000 block will be the last ever to contain 25 GlobalBoost Coins. At block 480,001 the block reward updates to 12.5. We will PoW mine only 3,000,000 newly minted GlobalBoost coins from the 480,001 block to 720,000 block until our next halving in 2028. The last year has been amazing with the taproot update. We can now build anything on GlobalBoost. Just like Bitcoin.

Funny to see this thread still alive after so many years. I remember when cross-chain swaps were more of a theory than a real product — we all used centralized exchanges for everything and hoped they wouldn’t freeze our funds.
