It's been nearly 2 days now & the TX still hasn't entered the blockchain, over 10 btc with the standard 0.0005 fee, it can't be cancelled & I guess that I can't add to the fee now, so is there anything that I can do & if not will it be in limbo for ever or eventually get picked up, this seems quite a Bitcoin/Blockchain.info wallet failing to me & I'm surprised that I'd never heard of it before despite being around for quite a while.

Send another transaction spending the change with a very high fee. Some custom mining software looks for profitable "chains" like that

From what I understand you're pretty much stuck waiting for it to get included. You could construct a new TX with higher fees double spending all those inputs but that needs advancing bitcoind haxing skills.

The reference (satoshi) client won't let me send a transaction with less than the appropriate fee, I don't think.  I can tell it to always include at least a certain amount, but if the required fee is more than the amount I set, it will ask me whether I want to (a) include the proper fee or (b) cancel the send.

I've not used the blockchain.info wallet enough to know what it does, but from what you've said it doesn't seem to be aware of what the require fees are.  All the inputs to your transaction were brand new when you sent the transaction, so it required fees.  Your transaction is 5672 bytes, and for non-free transactions you're meant to include 0.0005 BTC per 1000 bytes or part thereof.  So I would expect your fee should be at least 0.003 BTC.  If you could re-send the indentical transaction now, it would qualify as a free transaction because the inputs are now old enough (they're around 271 blocks old, and the total amount is 10.6 BTC, so they only need to be 6*24 / 10.6 = 13.6 blocks old to not require fees.

What's interesting is that I could probably resend the transaction for you (does the blockchain.info transaction page contain enough information for me to reconstruct the raw transaction?  It has all the input signatures - that should be enough, right?).  The timing of when I did that would influence which daily satoshidice secret was used, and so indirectly I can control whether you win or lose.

I'm guessing most nodes saw the transaction the first time it was broadcast and have decided the fee was too small, and now that the fee is big enough won't re-evaluate it.

This seems to be a very weird thing to be happening, I did one group multi about 10 bets in one TX & followed with another where a minute part of the imputs were SD lose refunds or wins from the previous bets & now it's just stuck, it will be interesting to see how long this takes to resolve, I hope that the goddess Fortuna is taking a personal interest in this...

I haven't placed a bet since September and have been doing really well with this strategy.  Haven't lost a bitcent since.   But I was looking at the block chain today and was startled to see a 1400 BTC satoshidice bet go by.  I checked on it and it lost!  The guy that did that bet has been betting huge amounts very often.  It boggles my mind.

Are these large bets common?  I feel terrible for the 100 BTC I lost last summer.  This guy bets a over a month of my salary over and over every minute.

They've been pretty much constant for the last week or so.

I posted about this and retep replied with an interesting take on what's going on.

It's likely that there's a bot automatically double-spending SD bets exploiting transaction malleability to be able to effectively change a transactions hash without needing access to any private keys.
