I think this attack's are not pointed in accounts ands coins stealing. Bits more to make site slower and to make them stop working for some time.

In that way others profit, players move from place to place. I think that become very good business.
I hope that admins will find a way to avoid this things in future.

yes and they have clearly succeeded, the number of investors and players has dropped. Feels like it has a lot to do of the down time.

Yeah lately its not only gambling sites that are effected. PRetty much anything Bitcoin related gets targetted these days. No idea why they are doing it.

lower the confidence in BTC sites so you lose the big players and the value of BTC plummets, but this requirer many attacks on many pages to make it happen, can also be for attention, all publicity is good publicity.

but to hurt so many sites so that BTC community will lose confidence can hardly happen, but the day when someone managed to "hack" the BTC we are screwed.  Undecided

Bitcoin, and the economy that surrounds it, is a direct threat to some of the powers that be.
... or at least they perceive it that way.

Cryptocurrencies empower the masses and it is not hard too imagine that empowered people are not desirable to some.

This is quite frankly ridiculous; banks are a ripe target for DDoS, are they not? Why are they never down?

@SD: Have you considered moving to a different ISP with better DDoS protection?
... or at least routing your traffic through an anti-DDoS service before it hits the actual server?

Is it, though? My point was simply that DDoS attacks can be resisted if the correct effort is exerted

The number of employees, customers, and turnover are significantly different, obviously a bank has bigger muscles.

But I still think SatoshiDICE.com should have enough technical knowledge to be able to prevent it from being exposed so often.

Up for me too.  But invest option has been removed (on mobile anyway).  Looks like investors won't be able to pull their money out.

Site is up and investors can withdraw just fine. However there's a bug making some tabs (including the invest tab) are not showing on some mobile devices. Anyone wanting to withdraw can do that on the desktop version.

I wish it was stable enough to keep investing, but this issue has been ongoing for several months now.  Your responses have gotten much better, thank you, but we need more insight into the changes you're making, why, and what you're doing to counteract DDoS attacks, etc.  Using SatoshiDice is not the same as using Yahoo or Zynga, we're trusting you with our money.  I was up to 10 BTC in your bankroll and had just enough trust after almost a full year to begin scaling my investment with you when these issues started occurring.  Now I'm down to 1.5 BTC...
