so you want to solomine
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin
tells you how, no need for pool software at all Smiley
pool frontend software just keeps records so pools can pay out, you dont need to complicate it for solo Smiley

curious to your hashrate, unless you have a very high hashrate variance will be huge Smiley

Perhaps he means a proxy.. ?
OP: do you expect to mine your own coins, or get paid by a pool?

Graet pretty much gave you the answer. You dont need a pool to solo mine

Mining Both Bitcoin and Litecoin.

As above. ITs solo mining if you dont point your hashes to a pool.
BTW, if you are mining on cpus, then forget about bitcoin and try litecoin instead.

thank you for your answer Wink

1 PC or 50 PC what you are describing is solo mining.

Just put bitcoind somewhere (even on one of the PC) and point the miner on all 50 PC to the same bitcoind instance.

It is no different for solo mining 50 PC as it is for 1 PC.

Be aware that variance between payouts will be measured in months if not years.

Say your PCs avg 10 MH/s each.  50 PC is an amazing 500 MH/s.  At 500 MH/s the average time between blocks is ~ 5months however take a look at any pool block round time stats and you will find that 300%, even 500% of average isn't that rare.  So there is a good chance your first payout will be in 15 to 25 months.  I think the longest block I have ever seen was 8x difficulty.  If you were that unlucky your total payout would be 0.0 BTC until you mined 40 months.

If every single PC has a top of the line Core i7 CPU your time between blocks will be maybe 1/3rd that.

That makes solo mining more viable, but payouts will still be erratic. There are plenty of good zero-fee pools that will make payouts much steadier and save you the trouble of maintaining a bitcoind server.

P2Pool is a zero-fee pool, at least in most cases. Wink

I could setup ecoinpool (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=56068.0) if you still interested.
