I have a 5870 on an extender in a machine that runs bamt and has a 5970 and another 5870 in the machine for a total of 4 gpus. The one on the extender is acting up sometime and stop responding to any miner. cgminer tries to restart it but it doesn't help. After you restart cgminer it starts hashing again like nothing happened. Is it because of the extender or something else? Has anyone else had any similiar problems?

gpu 2 and 3 are the 5970. 0 and 1 are the 5870s.
The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Could very well be a bad "extender". I threw out all 8 of my PCI-E 16x>16x and 1x>16x because they would either not detect the card, or it would be intermittent. Too much bending broke some of the many solder points and I don't have any solder skills. Now I use 1x>1x with open-ended slot and pci-e presence pin short and they all work like a charm.

I wasn't sure what info was needed. Anyway here,

Generic brand 450w psu for system, shares a Seasonic x-1250w psu with another single 5870 machine
This psu powers a tri-core system with 2 hdds and 3 5870s and 1 5970.
950 engine 328 mem on the intermittent card
Powered Extender
Asus m4a785-m with a broken disk controller
