An affiliate site in Europe is in early stages.  The operating model is that the affiliate helps local solar energy generators claim coins. In return for providing local outreach, The SolarCoin foundation pays 10% of the first years claim from the genesis pool of coins to the Affiliate.  http://solarcoin.org/en/over-2m-in-claimable-solarcoin-available-globally/

This program is open to anyone who wishes to launch an affiliate website. the general terms are
  • an affiliate can not represent itself to be the SolarCoin foundation
  • an affiliate must abide by all local laws and regulations in the domains in which it operates.
  • an affiliate may not make false claims or garuntees about price, returns or value of SolarCoin or the affiliates services.
  • An affliate must be transparent in any fees it charges a claimant
  • An affilaite must allow a claimant to transfer their ongoing claims and balances at any time
  • An affiliate must not engage in, encourage or enable fraudulent claims

So here is the first affiliate http://solar.fx-1.net/ site.  Please contact them with feedback, ideas for improvement or offers to help.

Alternatively anyone can set up their own affiliate site and claim bounties for a local region, language or group.

Another group in the US is working on a server based hosted wallet that will allow for simple registration and claim filing.  Solar electricity producers, won't have to download a wallet or the blockchain. The technology will also allow for Android and IOS wallet capabilities.

"solarcoin price"

Nick, one question here:
Can a country-specific affiliate website use the word "SolarCoin" in the domain name?
Like in www.solarcoin-country.com
Thanks!

Please note that Solarcoin.org (uses a .org) domain.  the important thing is to indicate clearly that one is not the Foundation, but rather an affiliate. In addtion the site should not to be seen as passing oneself as the foundation.  The goal is to incent outreach by 3rd party affiliates to multiple markets, either geographic, demographic or psychographic.  the SolarCoin foundation focuses on core security technologies for the blockchain and claims verification activities.

Solarcoin (§ SLR) are like airmiles. Each 1 Mhw generated gets you §1 free. Solarcoins can purchase what others will trade: USD,BTC, Soy candles..etc.

After thinking about it, POSv wallet rewards should give out as little coin as possible since coins added to the market which are not 1MWH=1SLR claimed will de-value prices ... they represent value added in online wallet users and NOT power generated.

Even 200k/yr coins would be a LOT considering how much power that is and how few claimants are involved at this point.

Does anyone else agree that adding non-claimed coins to the network usually doesn’t add that much benefit and brings price devaluation at the same time?  Huh

Matt, online wallets open for staking will be the ones securing the blockchain - that's where value comes from. Here are some good reads on various implementations:
http://forum.netcoinfoundation.org/thread/721/posv-rewards-blockchain-guardians-netcoin
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof-of-stake

Thank you for the links.. I will check these out as there is no doubt value is added in security long-term, I guess I just see it as a set back in the very short term is all.

Yes - as you already put it in the list of general terms:
- an affiliate can not represent itself to be the SolarCoin foundation
and that will be very clear on the site.
SolarCoin is also the name of the crypto currency. That is the particular word meaning important for the affiliate site, so I may as well get the name with the plural: www.solarcoins-country.com instead - that will definitely indicate it as a site where one can claim their SLRs.
Thanks!

Thanks for this. It sounds helpful for retail ease of use. I have forwarded to team for consideration, payoff potential and release schedule consideration.

good news! POST Beta for test release is right around the corner. Our lead developer has compiled and generated the first genesis block and Merkle tree with the full feature set. So next steps are ironing out a few more details then Beta Test release to the community.

I hope lots of people are interested in kicking the tires and helping out with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regression_testing  Smiley

I hope Solar Coin doesn't miss a great opportunity to rework the coin within POST. I think the Claimers will want more out of a coin than a few cents per month. I don't see why a Claimer would go through the trouble to Claim if the coin is only worth 2 cents. They could only hold their coin and wait for the price to go up right? If they sell for 2 cents they could potentially lose big if the coin ever goes to 1MWH in price. So they are forced to hold and wait for the market to shift, and subsequent selling makes the price go down and force them to wait longer.

Why not hold and make the market shift. I have cracked the conundrum for Solar Coin Claiming and simultaneously created the 1MWH price that is stated.

I sent another PM to Solaris33... Is Solaris33 a part of the Dev team or should I send information to you also nickgogerty.

Excuse my ignorance but what does POST stand for. I know POS was proof of stake. Also when we do move over what will we have to do with our old wallets? How will we get our coins to the new wallet?
