AppleByte is for the longterm. All of our strategies are built around building & rewarding the real user community.

When you look on the AppleByte Forum, and see the "street price" of AppleByte is 200,000 Sat (This is the conversion rate the AppleByte Foundation is giving the user community), and ABY is trading on Poloniex for 54 Sat, you see that ABY has a long way to go on the upside.

You can see this exchange rate on the AppleByte Forum - Places to use AppleBytes.

It is simply the clash between two different groups, those that mine altcoins and dump for BTC, & the real user community. The AppleByte Foundation focuses on the real user community, over time these two price valuations will meet.

AppleByte uses scrypt algo, which is now dominated by asics.
Has Dev thought about hard forking to more GPU-friendly algo?

We have taken action to defend somewhat against asics:

1. We only have one pool (did not release the linux code, since 95%+ of the large multipools run on linux)
2. We built a pool miner into the wallet
3. In our pool we give a bonus to CPU & GPU miners - Post explaining bonus
4. We restrict all miners on the pool to 10mhs

Not everyone here is happy with our decision, but it builds our real user community, who can still profitably CPU mine.
