This article summarizes the current state of Bitcoin very well. Bitcoin is today where the Internet was 20-25 years ago.

[XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency with no fixed max blocksize limit: https://getmonero.org/
How the Bitcoin blocksize debate will look 32 years from now: Bitcoin Core - Stay with IBM tabulating machines, and punched cards; Bitcoin XT - Upgrade to IBM XT computers with 640 kilobytes RAM and two 5.25in floppy drives.

It is a good article.

PS. May I suggest to put in title the date from the article itself (April 29, 2012) rather than the date it was found (April 30). Time from article writting to article beeing reported on the forum sometimes is hours and sometimes it is days. There still is a problem of timezone, however, I think we can live with this kind of inacuracy.
