Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

There are lot of indicators to predict markets but, remember that altcoin markets are SOOOO volatile nothing that you can do to predict the market!
Bitcoin/usd is better with some work (at least one year) you can build your techniques to predict the market (but you never can be sure about the trend) It's number game!

You can keep a close eye on the altcoin section here on bitcointalk so that you will be able to learn any related news ASAP, and take advantage of the good/bad news.

Good news isn't automaticaly an rise in price, as we've seen it multiple times with bitcoin, good news came and nothing happend, or we went down even more.
Same as coin halving =/= rise of value by 2x, the miners and traders decide the price.
