Every day, hundreds of fiat currencies like the US Dollar and Euro are exchanged for each other. Any given pair of currencies has a price ratio that is set by market forces of supply and demand and this price changes over time. Both of these statements apply just as equally to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin.

A financial option is the option(right or obligation) to buy or sell something. Options are used when one desires the right or full obligation to buy an asset and pays a premium to the seller for this right and pays the seller a variable amount for the option.  An option to purchase or sell a certain amount is fairly cheap whereas a full obligation is a preorder. In the case of currency options, the assets in question are altcoins/cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin.

Ancient Greeks Rocked Options

For example, the first option ever created is believed to have been bought by the Ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician Thales. He heard a rumor that the coming olive harvest would be more bountiful than usual and, after giving it some thought, bought the right but not the obligation to use some olive oil presses (for making olive oil) at a small fee called a premium.

The owner of the olive oil presses agreed that, when the spring came, Thales could but did not have to rent the olive oil presses at a price that was set in the winter back when nobody (except Thales) knew that olives were going to be in abundance. This would cause the production of olive oil to be cheaper so more people would want to do it. This would increase demand for olive oil presses, the other resource (other than olives) needed for producing olive oil. When demand goes up, price goes up with it. Anyone owning olive oil presses could rent them out at a profit.

So when spring came round the harvest was indeed larger than usual; Thales' hunch was right. Thales executed or exercised his option, gaining rights over the olive oil presses for the season. He then rented the presses out at a profit, which is equal to the revenue from renting out the presses minus his sunk cost of the premium to the owner of the olive oil presses in the winter and variable cost of paying for the cost of the olive oil presses in the spring.

If the harvest had been smaller than normal, he would have not executed his option and would not have rented out the presses, losing only the small fee he paid for the option. The reason why he did not wait and rent the presses in the spring when the truth about the harvest came is because then the owner would know about the harvest too and would raise the price of renting the presses so Thales would not make any profit.

Thanks guys! With our last mini-fundraising sprint we were able to raise pretty much exactly what we needed to launch GryfenCoin and not a cent or satoshi more.

We're not trying to raise that much money, we're content with the target of ~$2500 usd or about 5-6 BTC.

With that amount we will be able to not only finish difficulty issues in GryfenCoin in the Proof of Work & Proof of Stake mining but deliver a rich altcoins option market trading.  And not only that but we will be able to get listed on several exchanges so that all our loyal fans & followers will be able to trade GryfenCoins at an exchange - and I'm talking a real big exchange like Poloniex or Bittrex.

I am pretty confused,

1st: I don't understand the difference between shares class A and Class B.
How does it work?Class A is 5 times more expensive why? how much coin can I expect with shares A or B, could you explain that bettter?

2nd: We can buy you directly some coins at a price of 10 satoshis, and there is 1 trillion coin, so at this price you estimate a market cap of 100.000 bitcoin, so somewhere close to ripple and litecoin.
Isn't it a bit expensive?

1. Class A shares pay out a higher rate because there are more, and they remain in an account that is the backup backing for gryfX.  There are 2 Billion and they just stay there and stake.
Class B shares pay out of an account that starts off as 500 Million.  It is the direct backup for gryfX.com.   This means this is the account that funds pay out from on gryfX.
So consequently; the range fluctuates between 250-450 Million Coins.  Why a fluctuation?  Sunk options and losses to the user on poor options choices  go back in to this account so there is a flow of coins both in and out.  We leave 50 Million free in Reserve to have the liquidity to back options payouts on gryfX.

The shares pay out over a month giving approx. 12,903 coins a day, over a month.  This is to reduce the footprint of additional coins and to taper them in.
Class B shares could expect anywhere from 1,000-3,500 coins a day - depending on the amount.  If the 50Million set-aside depletes then it draws from the 250-450Million coin account - thus the root of the variation in payouts.

2.The amount of coins actually in circulation right now is 72.5 Million.  We used 1 Trillion as our limit because we wanted to leave room to account for advances in computing & technology.
You're looking at it like the 1 Trillion coins has already happened, the actual situation is the number of coins in actual circulation is 72.5 Million.
Another advantage of the high coin cap is not only does the coin fight inflation but it fights dangerous deflationary pressures as well so it will be more likely to be spent and used vs. saved and dumped.
Things that bring the coin into circulation are 1.Proof of Work Mining, 2.Proof of Stake Minting, and 3.speculating on gryfX.

I have a lot of gryf. I've been heavily invested since the day they announced their PRE ANN. I have absolutely no clue how to trade options though because I have never dabbled in it before. I'm sure I'll learn though, just as I learned how bitcoins, altcoins and coin markets work.

Version 1.0 is out.  We're going to be adding 4-6 new types of options and everything else to "flesh it out"

However we're adding in features one at a time - the last thing we want is some POS bloated javascript webapp that crawls like fb.  And also we care more about delivering the user the best possible experience.   So let us know what you want to see right NOW NOW, and we'll put the features into a priority that is aligned with the community.
