Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I need a loan of 0.1 BTC ($30). I need it to complete an Amazon order. I paying it back in 2 days since I'm getting $180 worth of BTC out of escrow then. I would choose the third method, the ID thing, but if needed I can give you my .uk Amazon account which has 65 pounds of balance on it.
