My coins stay in my wallet. They are an investment, so they will stay there for a longer period of time.
I think that the time when bitcoin was considered to be a currency are gone.
The general trend for the bitcoin price goes up. Small setbacks can be used by traders to make profit, but I am not one of them.
So using my bitcoins as a currency and payment, that would make me feel like wasting them.

as of now I am using my btc for investment. the thing about bitcoin in my opinion is that the price is getting higher and higher as time goes by. and thus it is the reason that I invested in btc and altcoins. and it is also a matter of luck, for example you invested in altcoin that suddenly increased value the ROI can be as much as 10000%.

Trade is the only place where I am using my bitcoins at a time and in the past I used to spend it on gambling sites but now with price increases I can not afford to loose Even a small amount of it on gambling I have now stopped it and investing in altcoins when I feel that this is a good time to buy at lower rates. and now I only use bitcoin as a savings like in banking, as well as including future bitcoin investments, because I think bitcoin can still increase

Mainly for a long term investment. Rather use fiat for necessities instead, because they won't rise. I will save it for later when it begins to drop or when i must use it.

The miners mine and hold, other mine and sell.

Investors and speculators buy, hold and sell.

You can buy random items in auctions and through the forums.

What are the reasons for the bulk of the bitcoin transfers? I read an article underlying the "dark side" of the internet and TOR network, and they seem to point out that bitcoins are now nearly the exclusive currency for the online "black market" (Note, they are not saying bitcoins are exclusively used for black market transactions)

What have you used bitcoins for?

Miner
Investor
Black Market
Other - explain

I am using bitcoin for money.Because bitcoin can help me in my financial needs. With bitcoin I can gain so much money and with bitcoin I am able tp help my parents with the things that I need at school.

I have brought PC bits and pieces, some subscriptions, I want some Tshirts but have not found a design I want yet, bitcoin from cassicus(sp) but I am mostly saving like I did with fiat that some like to call hoarding
I am using my bitcoin actually to buy things that i need and also the things that can help me. I also buy gadgets for posting for me to have a faster access with bitcoin.

Bitcoin's purpose is to serve as a currency which could be use in transaction online fast and secure, but it could be also use as a source of income which could be converted into fiat so that we could use it in the real world. Bitcoin helps a lot of people already, and one of those people is me. Way back then I was a guy who doesn't have any money, but lucky my friend introduced bitcoin to me that is why I could say I am financially stable.

I doubt bitcoin at first, but it took me a while before I realized that how would I know if bitcoin is legit if I'm not going to try it, and that is why I'm here now, earning bitcoin and using bitcoin on the things I know that could benefits me.

I use bitcoin according to what I'm looking for, for example for trading, buying clothes, treveling and sometimes I also use bitcoin to play poker  Grin
Well I am using bit coin for my savings in crypto currency and long term investments in it for my future. I usually exchange my bit coins for USDs when I need physical money to support my family other necessities of life. I often use bit coins for sale/purchase of various products online.

I like the way you think. We already have our own paper currency to spend and keeping bitcoin for a longer period of time will yield more as prices will go up.
