Scotland is holding a Referendum on the 18th of September on whether or not it should become independent from the UK. What do you think would be the result? What economic and political impact Scottish independence would have, should it become a reality?

Lets discuss.

Right now it is like 50/50.

Scotland will gain independence, if these groups turnout in large numbers:

#1. Younger voters (<40 yrs.)
#2. Male voters
#3. Voters who are born in Scotland
#4. Voters from the Highlands and the Islands
#5. Voters from the rural areas
#6. White voters

Scotland will remain as a part of the UK, if these groups turnout in large numbers:

#1. Elderly voters (>60 yrs.)
#2. Female voters
#3. Voters who are born in England
#4. Voters from the Lowlands and the Border
#5. Voters from the urban areas
#6. Ethnic minorities (esp. the Pakistanis and the Blacks)

By the looks of it the No vote got it. I mean, unless there would be a bloody civil war or something, I just don't understand why they would want to leave the UK.
