...
I don't feel comfortable discussing the use of a different PPLNS pool in this forum
...
This is the perfect place to discuss it unless you are worried that your thoughts are way outside the mainstream.

...
The "accessible to all" type market has really moved to PPS.
...
I do not feel that your characterization is realistic. What leads you to make that assertion?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm on Kano.  PPS is daily, regular payments that do not take a any understanding of the blocks - more like a clock running.  It removes any level of risk or luck.

KanoPool does not use PPS. You can clearly validate that on the pool website right after the welcome statement. https://kano.is/

Yup.  It's PPL5S.  It's also has less than 1% of pool share.  I'm thinking about Antpool ...

Weak. Back when I mined, we were real men -- even the women -- and we had balls of steel. A little variance? Pffft.

Unfortunately, I am getting to the party a little late. I wish I would've joined sooner and now have more than $5000 invested. It's the only way to make it sustainable - a little profit.

Why did you stop mining?

Electricity costs made mining unprofitable. [edit: in my location, that is -- still plenty of places where electricity costs are ok for mining]

Today I was mining with around 500000-750000 Ghps, but my balance was kept at 0 and so did the Unconfirmed balance. I am wondering if this is normal or if it is just a bug...  Embarrassed

You get paid when someone in the pool finds a block. Sometimes we find
the next block quickly, other times it takes longer. Have a look at our
blocks at https://bitminter.com/blocks

Here is some general info on how the payouts work:

Hello,
I'm no longer mining bitcoins and would like to close my account.
I'd like the remaining balance in my account sent to an external address.
I sent a message using the Contact button. Is that sufficient?

Thanks

You can withdraw your remaining balance (aslong as its abive thr minimum) yourself using the functikns on the website already. As for your account it doesnt store any security sensitive data so i wouldnt worry too much .

Bitmain Antminer has a vulnerable backdoor. Please read if you have Antminers:

That was pretty impressive. Too bad for me because I only had enough time to make it in for 3 shifts. I pretty much quit mining at the beginning of May except for some 2PAC USB miners I bought from sidehack for strict use on Bitminter. I just could not give up mining!

No, they still had shares in at least 9 out of the last 10 shifts. They got paid.

A good thing I reckon, if the big guns disappear it'll only lengthen the time between blocks.

What am I missing anyway "2 quick blocks", there was only 1? Saglimbeni's was a 5 week block?
