Did we have another outage?
I got a message from Nicehash again that my workers failed? (a.k.a. Switched back to kano)
Wouldn't it be a NiceScamCrash failure if they failed back to Kano? Huh

thats got really nothing to do with it...

i can see on my chart a huge dip again... So my miners were off kano again for the 4th or 5th time in a week....  Angry

There's not even a blip on the shift chart for me.  It has to be something in the path you are using to get here.  Maybe the proxy that you have to go through on NH to get here?

I haven't had a blip since the 8th. Been smooth sailing since then.

This is the first thing I'm seeing about the BTC / Hash giveaway. Where do I find the specifics for it at? I have 5 S9's that aren't plugged up mainly because of the bad returns..which I guess they aren't bad if BTC goes back up. I have 2 hooked up and running that I'm thinking about moving back over.

First page of the thread for Kano's 7 BTC giveaway; stay tuned to this thread for my 1 TH for 5Nd giveaway.

So let me get this straight....

you bought equipment, and now that the dollar value return has gone down, you unplug them, and wait until later when they will not be as effective due to the increase of world wide hash power, and then you will plug them back in again so they even generate less?

A good example is look at what happened in Dec - Jan, Hash rate went up, daily profitability went from .0035 per S9 down to .0012 at some point in Feb.

Up to you, but you are probably better off running them.  Or go sell them to someone - on Kano of course.

Folks seem to not be able to figure out that the fees NH charges to rent your hash to them kills any chance of making any gains.  Everyone makes their own choices...to each his own!

its my backup pool...
What do you suggest then? nothing? let them idle? does that gain more profit than NH?

@kano: can you check what went wrong then? my chart is full of blips down. I have the fastest internet available: 400/40megabytes fiberoptic... Should suffice for 15 miners and some websurfing... Smiley

Honestly I used to point my 3rd to a PPS pool and after a year or so I realized that Kano is so rarely down (and comes back up so quickly) that I never got enough on that account to ever get a payout so I just put in another Kano node.  Now I never have to wait to fail back to the 1st pool so I never miss a beat.  Some even use a solo pool as their 3rd as a lottery ticket for those rare fail-overs.

Which nodes are you currently using?  Have you ever checked them by pinging to see which ones have the fastest trip time?

EDIT:  The speed from you to Kano is limited by the slowest link along the route and it could be a glitch in a segment along the way that keeps knocking you off.  I just finished pinging all of the nodes and they are all fine for me except sg.kano.is.  It would not respond to me at all.

Some reason I thought that they pool was blocking all rental hash that was going to be pointed at it?
Did I misunderstand this?
Seems to me that since the hashrate of the pool has increased so has the number of posts about rentals pointed to the pool and their strange behaviors the present the renter.

He's not renting hash; he is selling his hash on NH and when the prices are lower it switches to Kano.  Folks seem to not be able to figure out that the fees NH charges to rent your hash to them kills any chance of making any gains.  Everyone makes their own choices...to each his own!

I guess I am getting confused when they say that NH sent them an alert that says Kano failed and they come here looking for answers. It seems to me that if NH sends a failure notification NH would be the ones to go to and not here unless your mining through NH and pointing to Kano. Im sure Kano does not have all IP's blocked but probably does a pretty good job at getting most of them.

The wording of the posts get's me possibly a language issue or something dunno... I've noticed it from more than one users on here over the past couple weeks.. Maybe it's just me  Shocked

Fingers crossed for a double block Wednesday!!!
Knowing that you, padrinogtr, et al. are actively promoting the pool on social media--great job by the way--an idea might be to also promote our favorite Kano Island local native crazyman, K.P.!

Maybe create some buzz online about the Pass the Hash Giveaways he's been doing to see if anyone is interested in trying their luck here and joining in on the fun.

It might be part of the key to us hitting 200PHs by the summer!

I have posted about the "Pass the Hash" giveaway.  It's had some traffic for sure. However, I do need to work on something for the
5nd giveaway that's happening now.  The original PTH giveaway made it's social media debut, the same day it showed up in the
threads. Rest assured that, I'm working every possible Avenue I can find!!! Hahaha!!!

My understanding is that if you pay someone else for the use of the equipment and do not have a physical machine at your location or under your control you run the risk of the IP's getting blocked by Kano.
I don't think it's a matter of if but when he gets around to blocking them once he finds them from his past comments.

I am two pages behind, but I suspect nicehash was DutchLincoln's 3rd failover (Kano is the first 2).  When Kano fails, it goes to nicehash then when it comes back, he gets a failure notice from nicehash.  Out of curiosity, are you running residential or commercial internet?  If the connection blips, that could cause the bounce.

There have been zero node disconnects in the last 24 hours.

That's what causes a failover for everyone on a node, when the node gets a network disconnect to the main backend pool.

An aside: if you rent hash, point it here, and it causes problems because of the way the lessor set up the machine, who's responsible? NiceScam? No. The lessor? No. It falls on YOU. Not having full control of the hardware you're using is about as smart as not having full control of your wallet.
Mine on!!!
So even though I have my equipment in my facility, I still have questions if it is totally legit and correct (and if bitmain can still get their fingers at it through my firewall)... Obviously the firmware of these suckers is not easy to deal with.  My S9 has been mining for 9 months and still no block.  Not all that surprising given the difficulty, but makes a person wonder sometimes...

If you mean you haven't got the dust yet? (Dust is 9999 satoshi or less)

Then nazzer answered that here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg30336381#msg30336381

But to repeat that - as he said - until I complete the accounting code, you won't get your dust.

Your total unpaid dust listed there is 0.00049706 BTC

Is 28.97/27.32THs the pool hasrate for 2 machines?  That would be really good...that's 13.66 each.  After 261 days it may be time to simply reboot everything to clear up the numbers on that controller.

Pool reporting Hash Rate:28.97/27.32THs

Just added the second to the controller today.

Is 28.97/27.32THs the pool hasrate for 2 machines?  That would be really good...that's 13.66 each.  After 261 days it may be time to simply reboot everything to clear up the numbers on that controller.
Actually - it probably means the controller corrected the time ~260 days forward and thus the stats will be all wrong.
But yes, rebooting the controller sounds ideal (to fix that) - but the pool hash rate sounds good Smiley
