not claiming post hoc ergo propter hoc, but bad luck period almost exactly correlates in time with S9 and BM miner introduction. We shall see if it continues or not. I am willing to give it another two-three mo and see if it/luck goes to 98-99%.

Well to be fully fair one would need to see all pools since the s9 assuming the s9 has a clever piece of software that hurts pool x but not pools y and z. Kano has stated s-9's seem to have bad luck on this pool so far. the real question is not that . it is what about all the other pools. If indeed the s9 mining software intentionally works poorly with kano and all ckpool software is a good question to know the answer to. BTW right before the ½ ing we were monster killer hot and the s9 was out in the field in smaller %

I was actually trying to look at real time stats after the block (by others). There is something strange (like significant RT hash rate drop) going on right then, but maybe it is just interface glitches, it is difficult to say. Could be perfectly normal. Next time i decide to check it, i will try to see if S9 are affected differently by this than S7 (probably not).

Wow, 4 blocks today! 14 out of our last 15 blocks have all been 13+ block rewards! Also, 16 of the last 20 have been 13+

Also, 16 of the last 20 have been 13+ Indeed...and my per block revenue is 60% higher now than it was in Aug when the pool rate was around 40. My math tells me I'm still breaking even comparatively, at the worst case. Haven't been able to run any thorough guesswork, though. 'Scuse while I go bleed a brake cylinder or two...or four. C'mon, blocks! C'mon, A7!

Kano it would be interesting to know if s9's are in some way having a negative effect on your pool. If they are it would be in the best interest of the pool that they go somewhere else including mine. Just curious.

Well for miner types directly connected to the pool (not via a proxy) Since they first existed: 67.76844935 BDR for 60 blocks - so not excellent, but not impossible: CDF[Erl] 0.842606Since the halving (excluding the data before the halving): 63.99816529 BDR for 57 blocks CDF[Erl] 0.825166 (thus a little better) But since the halving there are worse - the longer term figures are (usually) statistically more relevant (there seems to be a v2 bmminer that's found no blocks so far, but the BDR is only 0.07520162) They do have the worst luck and the worst CDF on the pool for miner types connected directly to the pool. But the numbers aren't in the realms of improbability - and it doesn't include any using proxies. However there is (only) one "proxy type" with a worse CDF stratehm-stratum-proxy-0.8.0 7.76724928 BDR 3 blocks: CDF[Erl] 0.983517

Thanks for the input, Kano. It's clear. There's just no smoking gun...yet...but one helluva warm barrel, methinks...

I will probably take the Spock route, for the good of the pool, unfortunately with no A7 in sight.

Seems a good way to observe the raw data with a degree of certainty...almost no confounding variables. And yeah...no A7 in sight. It's been 2 weeks now and I don't have an RMA on the A6. Kinda wondering wassup.
