I've got three S7s in Labrador, and they're profitable. Good DC, as well.

I used to keep them here at the house, but when I picked up a couple r4's and an s9 they didn't make sense. I thought about sending them to Labrador, but when you add shipping and Canadian duty, it didn't cost out well enough. I didn't shut them down until January, so I didn't see enough return to justify it. With the rise in btc, I found a place close that makes more financial sense.

I paid $60 US for each S7 shipping, USPS Priority Intl. Duty isn't that much...so long as you declare value based on a used unit. It costs me US$70 a month to run an S7 there, but that includes the PSUs. I figure than even an A6 would make coin, given conditions, as it uses less power and therefore the monthly cost goes down to around US$50. If you can find someplace closer that's as efficient, go for it.

FWIW...for me, 2,500 mi away from the nearest continental land mass, Labrador is as "close" as anywhere.

As I said I'm very new to this, but from my own experience so far with an S7 it will be a stretch to get enough btc to match $30-$35 per month at current bitcoin value. Unless you're counting on holding the btc and the value going up that much.

I happened to have a pretty good month for February and pulled in a tad over 0.11btc with a slightly overclocked s7 and almost that much for January even tho I missed a few days that my internet was not working right and a few powerdowns while I worked on upgrading some of my wireing and outlets for some s9s  and a few other interruptions to mineing 24/7 for the whole month of January.   So it worked out that they did better then expected due to good pool luck. and with btc being over $1000 made it worth running it. Where it was starting to look like a loosing or at best break even propostion to keep her going when the price of btc was just flerting in the high 800s to mid 900s.

I am another newbie with just 2 R4s. Had them for just 5 weeks, with just one for the 1st week.

So far I have been rewarded/paid 0.4786 btc (thru block # 454915). With both R4s running, I average about 17.4 to 17.5 THs.

Total actual rewarded is $502.64 USD, with todays price its up t around $590.00 or about 17% profit just based on the current value.

Alot of your return obviously depends on your electric cost, mine are relative low sine I have 100% solar on my home. I expect around $100 - $125 electric bill after by unused solar reserves each month. (my direct elec is 6.8 cents / kWh.

So for me, (so far) I expect with around $500 per month gross btc, and say 150/mo elec, so I will be netting $350/month. I should have my R4s paid off in another 9-10 months (if they keep running at 100%).

I just hope future months mimic February and the btc price at least holds steady, even though most predict significant increases.

Bottom line, for me after just over a month, is that I have no regrets for becoming a small home BTC miner..especially at KanoPool!!

We keep a very close eye on spot, but without sharing the math I can say that, hosted at Cryptoboreas, we have had 3 S7s running there since November, and the three of them are responsible for about half of our total ~28TH. So, I can say with accuracy/honesty that our USD revenue for the last week all were running was averaging a bit over USD$36/day; so the S7s are producing presently around $18/day, or $6/machine, or $180/mo/machine. I'd say that's still profitable. We won't get nervous unless spot drops to 800 or less.

I say "when all were running" because I have a 721 and a 741 here at home, and both are down due to bad PSU bricks. Anyone know if breakout boards for HP1000W bricks will work on HP1200W bricks?    I asked the vendor but haven't heard back. Getting antsy. Hate losing revenue.

EDIT: Guess I'll just order the 1200W bricks and see if these breakouts fit when the psu's get here...I'll lose another couple of days if I have to order new ones (and they cost more than the brick).

It is necessary to attract new miners, My opinion is that they need to have changes in kano policies .. for the big miners .. a bad luck of 30% is terrible, in addition to the 5nd ...

Thanks to Pondule for a critical bit of info I needed on the PSU bricks...also saved me a couple of hundred bucks overall so I can upgrade my line conditioning gear. It's a good day.

Big miners don't look at 1 block luck %'s and make decisions on that number.

a block averages  say 13 coins  x .009 = .117 coins   thats about 130 usd a block  which would be pretty good money if we made 3 blocks a day.

we make around a block a day  so 130 usd a day is very low. he spends hours of time and he runs servers.

I have no issue with the fee he charges. frankly  I rather he takes a little more.

I dont know about the 1000w breakout boards but I do know that the ones I have for a 700w and 1200w hp server psu boards are the same and are interchangeable.  They even have the same part number on the components.     So Im going to go out on a limb and assume that the 1000w boards would be the same as anything up to 1200    and I would not be supized if even the 1500w watt ones are the same.

Tho them hp power supplies can also have the wires soldered on directly and a jumper on the number 3 and 5 pin on the psu

R4s are pretty energy efficacy as well as the s9s    so I should hope you pulling in profits from 2 r4s running even if not on the best electric price rates. They should still be pulling in a good profit.   

S7s on the other hand use more watts then an r4 and a lot less hashrate.  So on the s7s it comes down to what some ones electric rates are and for btc price to stay high to be able to break even or on a good month when luck is good to do better then break even.
