There's currently an outage with the web server and the Silicon Valley half of the main stratum server.
The provider said there'd be brief network latency or packet loss due to network maintenance, alas that has turned into dead servers at the moment.
I'm awaiting them to resolve it ...

Edit: Seems like the web server was only very temporary.
But the Silicon Valley half of the main stratum server is still dead.

Edit: Silicon Valley stratum server is back alive - but there's another 1.5 hours listed for the maintenance, so I won't hold my breath hoping all is ok yet ...

Updated the 10 BTC competition to state that miners must be new, i.e. joined this year, and also there's now a 0.5 BTC reward for >=5PHs miners:

My simple understanding of how this works:
Assuming our current ramp to be about 16 days, And this guy mined for 46 days before bailing

https://imgur.com/a/v30IN

He quit too soon.
Note there are several blocks where he got 6/5th of his reward.
Even after he left.

So ... 4 hours after the maintenance ... problems again on both servers in SIlicon Valley - the web server and half the main stratum server.
I'm awaiting a reply about when it's fixed ...

Edit: fixed now - problem lasted for 19 minutes from 16:45 UTC to 17:04 UTC
Web is OK again, as is the 2nd main stratum server

Yeah it peaked for about half an hour.
Alas, it was short term.

That was weird, I had exactly one s9 fail over to my backup during that time, all of the other one's never dropped over.  They're all connected at same power source, same router, same internet provider, etc...

weird

I seem to be the same, 2 out of my 3 s9's did not fail over, hard to tell on my third because I don't remember the exact number of get works it had. I had a lot of errors for shift Mutsumi. As usual Kano was on top of things. Much thanks to the most excellent pool host.

Mine was on kosaki.   Very very strange, but whatever...it wasn't that long and let's crack this block!

For new members wondering, I'm  10 days into "the ramp", and I'm about half way there. (minus about 12hrs from powerloss)
In all actuality, the time is going by relatively quickly, and I've received 2 rewards from blocks in the last 10 days. Albeit, they were
not full rewards, because of "the ramp", but they are rewards!

It was a network problem, and the MTR stats were showing 67% of packets dropped and an average of almost 4 seconds for each packet to get to the server.
They said it was a DDoS though it looked more like an upstream problem.
Either way, some packets could still get though, but of course randomly quite a few miners disconnected.
i.e. some of your miners will have kept the connection or reconnected during that 19 minutes - but how many would be random.

Edit: the shift was 9uauc kosaki (though it went one minute into the next shift)
