FINALLY! A BLOCK!

Thanks to the Canaan testing pool Cheesy
Yeah it's a tiny one also since it was only 9 seconds after the previous network block.
Thus it's only what transactions were left over from the previous block, no new ones in the 30 seconds after that.
... but NOT empty Smiley
(only 15 transactions)

I can still claim one of the largest blocks in a long time Smiley And I am sticking to that!

Those were a thing of beauty....maybe one day soon RogerVer and the merry idiots will flood the mempool again.

Any issue using MDF as my little miner box I built? Temps are not over 85, wood doesn't feel hot or anything like that just wandered if I should have used a metal shelf just in case something were to go crazy.  before this I was using the cooler mod when I only had one S9

I guess no matter what a fire would be fire just curious a few expert thoughts

You are good if you insulated the box with fire resistant sponge or some type of that. Actually there's is one tutorial on youtube with wooden box. Try to find it.

Thank you for your response,

I remember seeing that video a few months ago but I can't locate it now. I'm having a hard time finding fire resistant foam or sponges on the internet.  I came across a few sprays you spray on the materials and some sort of Fire ball to mount above them maybe.  On Amazon I saw someone who had one above some Antminers

Any suggestion about random events causing blocks is actually caused by faulty memory Smiley
It's called 'Confirmation Bias' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias or in the more severe cases Cognitive Bias https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_bias

It's typical to remember outstanding events and not notice the rest.
Eureka! I've figured it out!

It's not the restarts that result in a new block, it's talking about the restart! In every case where there was a restart that seemingly resulted in a new block, it was also talked about... Including when we didn't actually do a restart but only talked about it...

try in construction materials merchants and temperature and sound resistant 3/4" foam or sponge. It is blackish and very cheap.

Honestly, I think you would be fine, as long as you have a source of cooling of the S9 itself. Include 2-3 inches of space between the miner and the upper wood, side wood panels, and use fire-resistant lumber if possible (but not required); it would need a slightly massive, consistent electrical fire to start that wood burning with a buffer like that. And those types of electrical fires are somewhat rare, especially if adequate cooling and space are there when constructing a cubicle for miners. Of course, anything is possible, just not probable.

You are welcome... I guess... haha

And I now have just over 1 bitcoin with that last reward....  its about half of what I expected, in 3 times the length to get to this point from what I calculated back in early December...  Boy was I wrong...  and someone sold a bunch of S9's that I wasn't expecting...

With the CDF[Erl]   @ .9789 for the month does that mean we should only run worse than this about 2 percent of the time?

On a good note it's awesome that we hit 2 blocks today!
