First of all... Welcome aboard! You will not regret breaking free from big-time corporate pools that mask their higher fees by dangling the carrot of consistent, daily payouts. Wink

hi, hope so, if all goes good, i will switch another 100 TH to here.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

this was probably mentioned in one of the other 2135 pages, but what does Hash Rate:4.48/4.67THs mean? I know obviously what a HR is but there are two numbers..

5 minute hash rate / one hour hash rate

Also, you only see the 5 minute hash rate when you first connect, if you've been mining for less than an hour.

Like logging into a bank account with a lot of money in it, logging into the web site is a bad idea to have it last for weeks.
It's set to last 24 minutes.
If you refresh the page or view another page it will be from that point.

I suppose those browser add-ons that auto-refresh that tab still work...

Try one or more of the apps listed on page 1 of this thread then you could get a notification if one of your machines drops below a certain hash rate that you set.  Then maybe you will find that you don't have to look at the website so often.

I currently get 3 notices when one of my miners drops below the hashrate I set; a push notice from the Apple app to my iphone; a text messagew to my phone from zachmonroe web site, and an email from the zachmonroe website.  I understand that the minergain web site does the same thing and although I have never tried the android app, I hear it also sends out these notices as well.

Apple App (find on the Apple App Store):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1344360.0

Android App, read in the thread here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg11091187#msg11091187

For miner monitoring (Zach Monroe Web site):
https://ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1331875.0

For miner monitoring (minergain Web site):
https://www.minergain.com/

EDIT:  These apps also send block find notices to my phone but the fastest way to get those is to sign up for a Discord account and install the Discord app on your smart phone.  The Block Bot notifier is really fast! Cheesy

So I've looked in the marketplace and eBay, without a whole lot of luck. I have an old S7 that I want to just stick in the corner and let it solo mine since I cannot sell it. Do any Kano folks have an APW3++ PSU for a reasonable cost?

The problem with mining solo is firstly you have an approximately 1 in 2.7 chance of having to wait until you've mined more than 100% i.e. major loss
and secondly, that time to find a block means that you'll average loss due to diff changes will be half the diff delta
e.g. if diff goes up 50% between when you start and when you find a block, you've lost 25% of your reward in diff changes.
Solo mining is for gambling addicts.

Diary of a Ramp-up from an Avalon6 to a 741 (Compliments of Kano's new Shift Graph Features):

This following clearly gives a good picture of why you would get gradually bigger rewards as you ramp up to full mining capacity. Likewise, if your miner fails, rewards would ramp down in a similar fashion--not just drop like a rock since you're no longer contributing.

I hope this helps to inspire patience for newer and/or visual learners. Wink
