A month of feathers, then two chickens in one day!?!?!
You know what they say about counting your chickens before they become orphans? KnC's mine made this second one an orphan.

D'oh! Damned arctic cooling systems.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Yep unfortunately the 2nd block today was an orphan Sad

Seems we found it a second or so after an evil empire found theirs.

Blockchain sees us directly and reported them first so it means that indeed we were 2nd from the start of the race.

It's flagged on the web page as an orphan already.

I'm working on fixing the stats for the 1st one.

But Smiley we are still ahead Smiley

WOW!!! that's crazy, We just have to hit another block while we have the hot hand.

Thanks Kano, I appreciate  your hard work.

Thanks Smiley

The web blocks page is now all correct.

I've done 2 db restarts fixing that.
Of course none of your miners would have registered any restarts or even any messages, it's all mining non stop when I do db changes/restarts.

Anyone watching the web site when I did will, however, have noticed that all the stats show temporarily as zero and no user changes/registrations can occur while the db restarts.
The web site is all connected to ckdb, not ckpool, so ckdb restarts affect only the web site.

Payout just done in case anyone didn't notice Smiley

Had one dust payment to an address user in there that bitcoin wouldn't let me send, so it's in a temporary address.

I'll add it onto their address if they ever mine again ...

Giving this a spin for a giggle.

Currently just a lowly 40G from a Bitburner Fury, got an Antminer S3 due in the next few days (super-cheap off eBay special...).  It'll never ROI, but hey. Wink

I updated the web code to be more strict with the display of usernames/workernames
Someone was trying an injection attack with their usernames (62 different username attempts) which would have messed up the display a bit ... for them Tongue
But it wouldn't allow them to hack into anything.

If anyone does have trouble with the web interface, of course let me know.
It's very simple of course, but it is still supposed to work correctly, so if you find any problems let me know.

What's up with the pool? It's acting up. I am guessing you guys are on it. Mining and website functions are down.

6hrs later and still trouble  Angry
Seems that the host provider's ddos handling isn't that good at all either.
I'm not sure how annoyed everyone mining is but I presume at least some are (understandably)
Since, I'm surely annoyed quit a bit about the provider's inability to handle the circumstances
... and keeping my eyes glued it for almost the whole time.
The ddos isn't actually directed at the pool but to something else in the datacentre.

Check out the Azure stuff mate, pricing is good and services are rock solid. I run all my stuff on there.

You could also put it behind cloudflare. That would help in terms of preventing some DDoS. If you need other options hit me up, I got a background in cloud architecture I can help. I am using the pool myself right now, would be nice to see it grow Cheesy

Where are the servers located? - I'd be interested in helping out with this and getting you some horsepower to operate on.  PM me.

Also, are you planning on releasing this software to the public?

I was gonna suggest CloudFlare too.  They protect the sites of security researchers/publishers when they start getting attacked by the organized criminal botnet operators...  but I dunno how CloudFlare's ip-hopping solutions would work with a stratum pool...

Just moved my 5T over.  Thought I'd see what we can do.

I'm bringin' my other 2TH over tonight, so I'll be all-in for the next block.

The trail of tears on the Slush statistics page has become just too painful to bear...
