Could be ASICMiner shuffling around some of their mining income or the income from sales of their miners... 23k BTC seems a lot, but is a reasonable number for a large company in the Bitcoin space!
Early adopters easily could have tens of thousands of bitcoins if they have stuck to it and held. But I think most of them are kicking themselves right now for getting rid of them, like the guy who bought two pizzas for 10k btc

My guess, it's a miner shifting coins & trading. Consolidation to cold storage ----> Damn that is a huge sum of money. For most of us, we would never see that type of money, in your whole life. Could also just be Bill Gates experimenting with "Paper wallets" They say, if he drop a $100 and we walks a mile, he would not turn back to go fetch it, because it's generated through interrest again. He keeps on giving money away, and before you know it, he is the richest man again. {Money makes money} http://www.thecarbondalenews.com/article/20140919/BUSINESS/309199979Wonder how much he invested in Bitcoin. I think he is the biggest hoarder {Whale}

I would think there would be a less risky way for a company to do an audit. Any time you send a TX there is a small risk that you send the bitcoin to an incorrect address, that the private key of the receiving address gets destroyed or corrupted. I would argue a better way to audit holdings a company has would be to sign messages with all the addresses under their control and use an API to check the "balance" of each of the addresses

would be nice to have that amount of bitcoin.
sadly, probably none of us will ever have that much.
however, maybe someday, even 1 bitcoin will be about the same value at 23k are now.

Exchange platform or bitpay, they combine many small inputs into 1k transactions, like moving customer funds into cold storage

I would think they would likely send these small inputs to an exchange since they are providing their customers with fiat once the bitcoin is received. These inputs would likely get split up once the customers who eventually buy the bitcoin that bitpay is selling gets withdrawn from their account

That address has got almost 10mil and also gets 0.0001 payments from Laxo, hope they spend it wisely. Looks like a big company getting some finances in order, 1,000btc each transaction.

With the number of people monitoring that address, it is probably cheap advertising for Laxo.
