Will shipments be made from 29th November onwards, everyday? Meaning those near the end of the the preorder queue could receive their order 9 days later (assuming 100 units a day) than the first preorders? Or will you get them ready for shipping and ship all on the same day? If it's the first scenario, how many units will be shipped per day? Will there be some sort of customs fee to pay for import to the UK?

I'm trying to get some sort of an idea to how well off the first bunch are going to be compared to the last lot, so I'd appreciate it if you could let us know more on this.
You will pay around 25% in taxes for importing in the uk.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

Everyone in the eu will pay around 20-25%, it's a fee composed by the VAT of your country plus the fees of the customs office. VAT in Germany should be 19% if I recall it correctly.

Starting in the next few days, I will write an automation script to collect your posts and post them in a thread called:
"Inabas/BFL_Josh Words of the Day".
Every 24 hours your publicly released posts will show up in sequential order for everyone to read.
I have data mining software and comparison software. So even if he does edit his posts it would be fairly easy to find out where and what was edited out.

I could do a similar thread for Tom and NgZhang. If nothing else, it would show people what the main representatives of each company on the forum are saying and how they say it. The quality and characteristics of these response types will undoubtedly determine if people stay with a particular company or not.
(...)
My only question is which corner of the forum is the best place to put it?

PuertoLibre, you have data mining software, but you haven't found a simple forum feature called "Show the last posts of this person"?
And you plan to put a lot of effort into duplicating of this feature?
Look here (sorted by user number):
Inaba: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=8198;sa=showPosts
cablepair: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=10804;sa=showPosts
Ngzhang: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=38132;sa=showPosts
BFL: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=44366;sa=showPosts
BFL-Engineer: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=52443;sa=showPosts
BFL_Josh: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=63314;sa=showPosts
PuertoLibre: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=66605;sa=showPosts

BTW: It seems BFL* posts are very polite. It's only Inaba who is often too hasty and not so polite, however he openly declared himself to be such.
Sometimes he overreacts, but to be honest, he usually has the right to.
Strange, people were not so upset when the BFL was attacked by many, like now when Inaba alone asks for fairness.
You must be missing the point. The point is to collect his posts in such a way that keeps a record of his interactions. What good is a record if he himself can edit them?

if he edits them it would become evident if they were stored elsewhere on the forum (or as many have pointed out) on another forum site.. With the internal feature it is not possible at this time to secure posts from editing either at the user level or (if as claimed) the moderator level.

I didn't miss anything.

(also for the record, I would like to point out that BFL_Josh/Inaba has been much nicer since this was proposed. Either that or the Mod talked with him about his dramatic behaviors.

I also noticed that a frequently unused account called BFL has become active. It averages only a handful of posts (1 or 2) per month. It is very curious to see and leaves me in wonder if there will be new names and handles.

It's great to be able to see what you want to see in things, without that pesky reality getting in the way, isn't it?  Makes your life a lot easier, I'd wager?

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

I also propose to store his posts on his own BFL forum website (with an offline copy of course).

It would be very interesting if BFL_Josh/Inaba accepts this proposal as it will tell me if he is embarrassed or not by his behaviors.

If he edits it at any point on the BFL forum, it will be damning evidence. If he is embarrassed to let his own business people see his own words on their own company forum, then it would prove that he recognized is acting inappropriately.

@ BFL_Josh/Inaba

Do you mind if I use a thread on your company forum?

Yes, I mind.  We don't want the crazy to leak out and make a mess of the BFL forums.  Keep your crazy to yourself!

Do you like, seriously, honestly believe what you're saying or are you pandering to the crowd?  I've been wondering about that...  The only time I edit my posts is to change some grammar/spelling or phrases. I leave the content largely alone.  HerpDerp aside up there, you can see when a post has been edited and I rarely edit my posts.

I look forward to your compilation, I think you may be surprised by what you find.  Here's what I think, though:

You are subscribing to the groupthink that's in this thread that I am somehow "trolling" when I press Tom for legitimate questions and call him out on his ... misinformation ... I understand perfectly well how it feels to have your choice of hardware brought into question (It's no different than the OS wars or Apple vs PC).  You want to lash out and blame the person questioning your choice/decision.  I mean, they must be trolling and being a "jerk" because they don't agree with your choice, right?  Evidence, facts and reality don't count when you've already made your choice, because you must have made your choice on sound evidence, right?  It couldn't possibly have been an emotional choice that turned out to be questionable, right?

So here's a challenge to you:  Go back through my posts by hand (presuming you have not finished your script) and you evaluate my posts without your biased viewpoint (if you can) and you point out where I've been less than truthful or have brought up subjects that aren't relevant to the topic at hand.  Also look for these supposed posts where I'm being totally irrational and spewing hate and bile all over the place.  If you find any (I doubt you will), I want you then to look at what they are in response to.  Are they in response to frothing, irrational stupidity or are they in response to well reasoned, polite response?  You might actually find a real pattern if you can do all that.  It shouldn't take too long for the pattern to emerge.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Right now it looks like we are just over 800 units ordered (including both the 27gh/s and 54gh/s models) Just to be safe I am going to stop taking pre-orders at midnight tonight EST.

If people are seriously concerned about this - I will allow another 24 hours to get in your pre-orders

If people feel like there should be some time to digest the additional specs before I stop taking pre-orders than that is fine. I will stop taking pre-orders at midnight EST 10/22/12 - or when we hit about 900 units ordered, whatever comes first.

Given the context, I think he meant pre-orders stop at the end of Oct 22, not beginning, so 26 hours from now. I do wish people would avoid vague phrases like "midnight 10/22".

Specs should be released in just 2 hours though. Cheesy

You'll always have to pay VAT Mehrwertsteuer (19%) and some kind of fixed fee for customs handling like EUR 18 or more (depends on the shipping agent who can choose a different customs broker). Packages with a low value (for example EUR 50) are not handled and can pass through, although sometimes the customs handling fee is charged but no VAT.

Don't think you can get around it by asking the sender to give you a low value invoice as customs people do check regularly if the declared value is low enough to stay under the limit. It's just a matter for them to google and see the real value on the order site.

Chinese sites try to issue low value invoices or even declare items as gift but that does not work. It's not that easy ;-)

Having a lower value is a form of fraud and it will also cause problems for business customers who will get a mismatch in the invoicing with the corresponding IM4 documents that are generated

The new website is looking awesome! Unfortunately I don't have time to move the database and migrate everything over tonight.

I will finish this in the morning..

However I have posted some specs to the old web site as promised.

The only thing that is really missing is the energy efficiency information which right now I only have simulated data.

I have stated before I will not claim any simulated/estimated electrical efficiency data and I am sticking to that - however...

I have decided to ask a reputable, well known and impartial third party to conduct a simulation and post the data for all to see.

I will try to have this arranged and completed this week so you still have a reason to check out the new web site! Tongue

After I post the winner on the contest thread I'm gone to bed - be working regular business hours tomorrow

have a wonderful evening and remember pre-sales end 24 hours from now!

Thank you to everyone!

Tom
