B2 will be available when our sales team get solid confirmation from our production team, and the quantity will be much better. Thanks.

... which confirms once again that you should never, ever buy B1. Pay more, get less.  Wink

Batch 1 is always their beta test for suckers.

They'll sell these at a more fair price in later batches, and the QA issues will be fixed by Batch 3 or 4.

Too true ... Rule 1: NEVER buy the first incarnation of anything related to BTC mining with Bitmain. They will learn from any problems and refine.

Then the price may ... (should) ... drop, but so will the rewards with ongoing difficulty.

Green line means you can underclock them to there.
That's 100Mhz and have 1TH/S when difficulty gets higher.

After you take all these in consideration you can make a real calculation:

Oh, God... Why all of you believe that exchange rate for 1 BTC will always be 400+$?... What makes you think so?..

And why do people think the exchange rate has ANYTHING to do with hardware purchases.

If it mines less btc than it costs you've lost regardless of what happens to the rate.

Spend BTC3.5 and get back BTC2 and you are  BTC-1.5

If you are lucky and BTC doubles to $800 and you cash out yes you will have made a small profit, but if you hadn't bought the thing in the first place you'd have made a much bigger one.

If you sell your bought/held BTC at the exact right time.

Funny how Bitmain went from the preferred home mining manufacturer to the most hated so quickly. What a fickle business this BTC mining is!

Noise wise(server psu, 3u cabinet, & 4 large blade fans) along with the option for hosting we can see what this miner is made for and it isn't home mining. I just hope they keep the S3 line around.

Miners got themselves worked up about the possibility that Bitmain would deliver them a 2 TH miner for a song. Remember the S2? 1 TH for about 3 BTC. While it didn't sell like their other miners, people still bought them.

I got B1 (4.75) and B2 (4.25) S1 units and they were perfect. Mined about 6.5 and 6btc respectively, and resold for almost the electricity costs of the entire time running them.

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

So what makes you think it should be less than $400? People like you years ago made fun of bitcoin and said the same crap.
Who said about less, buddy?

Please stop this.  Undecided God is the Universe, BTC is a happening in this Universe, so please stop this unnecessary bla-bla...

I agree with you!! Smiley Smiley

I'm glad the trolls who can't math agree with each-other. My recommendation Sally & Rabin is that you each buy 2 S4s immediately before Batch #1 sells out! You're absolutely right, Bitcoin will be worth an incomprehensible sum of $local_currency in the future! And you are too terrible at math to realize than rather than being a millionaire with X million, you will only have .75*X million. But you know what? That's okay, because you'll still be millionaires, and that's all you'll see, and that is probably enough.

In the meantime, we have irrational actors running a substantial percentage of the Bitcoin network, like Sally and Rabin over here, who are a substantial part of the reason why the hashrate (and thus the network difficulty) continue to go up at a break-neck pace despite the profitability per-coin-mined going down. And irrational miners are the reason why the hashrate will continue to trend up at such a substantial rate. So buy your S4, buy two. Mine 'till your heart's content, it makes things tougher on reasonable miners, but not substantially. And you'll have spent far more time, money, and energy getting to where you end up than I will have, and you'll still have fewer Bitcoins than I. So I'm cool with that.

Great post!!!

A little harsh on wannabe miners (like myself really) who want to get in on the mining game, but, definitely justified in relation to the crazy price of the S4.....although for me it would be .35*X million due to shipping, import duty and high electricity costs! Wink

i dont do it for the money people. If i would be a millionare of this i would share it with poor people! That's why Bitcoin excist. Satoshi Nakamoto said "Bitcoin is made for a nice and beautiful world and who abuse it, i will destroy that person''. I'm allready in Bitcoin for 3 years so please stop with al this crap please. Without us no Bitcoins, if you don't have the money for a miner that's fucked up, but not my problem!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

No problems expect that, all the BTC you send for buying S4 will never com back.
Should consider it as your fee to learn what these things are.

Hasn't Bitmaintech already made loads of money? Maybe they should subsidize the S4 to support the network and its decentralization!  Cool
