Two Newbies walk into the Do Not Use PayPal Saloon, pulling up stools at the bar.

Bartender: What it'll be, guys?
N1: I'll have a Satoshi.
N2: Give me a Nakamoto. (to N1) What brings you to this handsome community?
N1: I'm here on business, sellin' some of them bitcoins. You?
N2: I'm here to buy me some bitcoins. You take PayPal?
N1: Yep! That's how I sell 'em.
Bartender: (upon overhearing the conversation) I don't think that's a wise idea, for it's been written...
N1 & N2: (in unison) Why don't you mind you're own fuckin' business. (they both leave after flippin' the bartender the bird and not tippin' for service)

One week later. Same saloon. Same bartender. Same fellows. But an invisible, impenetrable wall separates all three.

Bartender: Welcome back, guys.
N1: That guy scammed me!
N2: No I didn't!
Bartender: This is a joke, right? (pointing to the sign above the bar, then the one above the door, then the ones on the east, west, north and south walls, then the other 1,000+ signs hangin' all about that read, "Buying or Selling Bitcoins with PayPal as a Business Model is Bad, MmmKay!") Didn't you guys read the signs?
N1 & N2: (in unison) Fuck you!

Moral of the story, as I nail up other sign: Don't be like Newbie1 or Newbie2.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Buying or Selling Bitcoins with PayPal is Bad, MmmKay!

Not necessarily, especially worded like that. I've already bought Bitcoins with paypal and nobody got scammed or their account frozen Wink

You should say: Buying or selling Bitcoins with Paypal as a business model is Bad.

Fixed! Since I wasn't quoted, I'll use this post to state that I edited the OP, inserting psy's suggestion, among a couple other adjustments. Thank's, psy.

No worries. You didn't needed to fix it.
I was just afraid that I wouldn't be able to buy any more of them BTCs with my "worthless" PPUSD/EUR after people reading your thread Grin

That was a joke, by the way.  [Update: Oh, and quoted exactly as it existed in the OP.]  Though I do make trades through #bitcoin-otc where I'm using PayPal to buy or sell bitcoins or MTGUSD.   The -otc Web of Trust (WoT) helps signficantly, for both sides.

Hey how do I get in this WoT thing?

The #bitcoin-otc Web of Trust (WoT) is an an irc-based web of trust network.   You'll need to install GPG to use it:

Installation:

Once you've registered, others with whom you've traded can rate you:

Also, once registered you can place orders in the #bitcoin-otc marketplace:

You don't even need to be registered to chat with other -otc users in the foyer:

I very much doubt that. Never bought overpriced bitcoins on ebay.
All deals were made here on the forum, and you weren't one of the persons who sold to me, at least not with this username Tongue

The story is funny because it's how most people on the internet get scammed, regardless of bitcoins. ALWAYS avoid paypal. I don't even thing the method of gifting money is safe anymore.

A 17-year-old kid walks into the Do Not Use PayPal Saloon, approaching the bartender.

Bartender: You look mighty young to be a drinkin'.
Kid: Ain't here to drink, but give you a new sign to post. (hands bartender the sign)
Bartender: (after reading the sign) Thanks, kid.
Kid: (leaving) See you around!
Bartender: Wait! What's your name?
Kid: Google the sign.

BTW, Phin, you should do something lile this for Dwolla.
The scammers are starting to change tactics.
Becoming more common each day to find 1 post newbies trying to buy BTC for Dwolla.  Roll Eyes

Two Newbies walk up to the bar.

N1: What's up with all the same signs?
N2: Yah! And what's they mean?
Bartender: You'll ain't from these parts, eh?
N1 & N2: (in unison) Nope!
Bartender: They're written in Iowan. They all read, " Nothin' goes in, where corn comes out!" (the Newbies leave, albeit a couple minutes apart, ergo no longer holding hands)
