For something extremely specific, make that $25000 payable in BTC and you have a deal.

price has gone up considerably.
still dont see why he needs a pool to solo mine
but hey good chance for someone to make some money

although what happens when an update is needed or the pool falls over, who is there to fix it?

Did you forget about this thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=78264.0

I will now proceed to rant about pools.

Setting up a mining pool is not simple, and requires extensive knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes. A mining pool is guaranteed to fail in interesting and unpredictable ways. You must be prepared to fix the problem yourself, unless you are also going to pay someone a fair rate for some kind of maintenance contract. An improperly secured pool or pool server can and will be hacked, and all coins stolen unless you have adequate protections in place.

Just as running the pool software itself is complicated, so also is running the security protections and software on the pool server.

In conclusion, it isn't worth it to run your own pool unless you know how to create it yourself or set up the existing open source options yourself. End rant.

EDIT: Graet found the link first. Wink

This won't work, kostask. You'll need someone to manage the pool, which is an ongoing cost. If it's for your 50 computers (as mentioned in the other thread) then really just mine them on p2pool if you don't want to use a centralised pool or need virgin coin for some nefarious purpose.
